| The Harrow has been under new ownership since mid 2010 and the pub will be re-opening in late February 2011. Having seen alot of the work that has taken place inside it is sure to be one of the most popular places around. | We started visiting The Harrow in 2007, and found the service great, the food, tasty and good value, and the staff very helpful and friendly. We always stopped off on our way through Enstone and became semi regulars, enjoying a good pint of real ale, good food, atmosphere, and a good laugh with the licensee and regulars. We were sad to see on one of our trips through that the pub was closed. We then saw that the pub had re-opened on a visit through Enstone in September, we stopped off and what a difference. The food was warm.. the decor had been changed, there was no atmosphere, the staff were not rude but unwelcoming, my wife did not enjoy her meal so we paid and left. I think back to the visits we had the great service that we used to look forward to receiving but all that has gone. We wont be stopping there again. | We went for a family Sunday lunch in August 09 and ordered our food.. The service appeared to be slow, despite it not being terribly busy, so we ended up buying more drinks. Around 3/4 hour after placing the order we went to chase up our food, only to be told our order hadn't been passed on to the kitchen. No apology or offer to try and fix the situation, we were just told to go somewhere else to eat by a very disinterested member of staff. The time was 1.30 and orders were still being taken for food! I accept that mistakes happen but was very disappointed with how it was dealt with and the attitude of the staff. When you have 2 hungry children with you this sort of situation is really not what you need. soups - 10 Aug 2009 22:12 |
