| We ate here last night before going to an event at Heythrop Park (2 mins drive away). We were a bit dubious having read some of the reviews above which is why I decided to write this. I had one of the specials (chunk of cod with squid on garlic mash) and it was delicious, one of the best meals I've had recently. Mains are £8-£14, so not cheap but this is about the same as most pubs in the area and portions were a good size. | Over priced pub grub, I am glad I was on a diet, otherwise I would have been looking for the local fish and chip shop, I was worried dick turpin would be waiting for me outside, because my wallet was emptied very quickly in The Crown. The landlady was rude, and was obviously spending more time with the well to do village crowd, who my i add were loud, foul mouthed and abusive. The Restaurant was cramped, no space to move, the wait was longer than anticipated, and the quality of the food was reasonable. The size of the meals were a joke. We used to visit the other pub in Enstone where the whole experience was more casual & the atmosphere was jolly, the Crown is missing that atmosphere. | Very pleasant atmosphere, and good beer, but the bar snacks (salads, baguettes) are unimpressive: quite expensive with small portions. The coffee came without a chocolate or even a biscuit. Not good enough. cato - 15 Aug 2008 14:36 |
