user reviews of the Flapper and Firkin, Birmingham

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

It's had a lick of paint, but in truth it's worse than ever. The toilets don't make you vomit immediatly upon entry now, it takes a few seconds for the smell to kick in. The slight refurb has gotten rid of the slight bit of character that the Flapper still had, it's souless now, and the beer awful. Good only for going in and saying "they're stolen my youth from me" as you walk round looking at the walls.

the toilets are v.bad - ammonia producing environment
great little gig venue tho'
beer - average
music - very good rock/indie/alternative selection

not bad rock and student pub, often full of kids, cheap beer but it's not the best. good atmosphere though and nice canal side location. some good local/unsigned bands playing thurs/fri/sat nights. avoid the toilets if possible, they're the worst in brum. now sure if i've brave enough to try the food, i might do if they ever decide they're actually serving it when i'm in there.
