| Visitied this pub for lunch with friends, we received a warm welcome, the staff could not have been more helpful or pleasent, the food was excellent and the ale was good. What more could I ask for? The food was slightly dearer than the average pub but the quality and portion size comfortably made up for that. | My partner and I visited the countryman for lunch today, despite a friendly welcome we were both extremely disappointed with the food , which was both bland and poorly presented. When one pays £24 for a beef/noodle salad and a steak and ale pie, one expects something a bit special, This certainly was not.
