user reviews of the White Lion, Baldock

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Looks like a long time since anyone reviewed this place. Two bars, real fire.
I have visited twice in recent weeks on recommendtion from friends. Both times the beer was excellent with 6-8 real ales (Baldock Bitter, couple of Oakhams, couple of Bunthingfords and Olde Trip). The visit yesterday we had a couple of pints and lunch. Beer was spot on and food excellent quality with good choice. £5 for a fried fish sarnie with chips, proper fried fish, not fish fingers so all good.
They also have good selection of Aspells cider, not my tipple but clearly is someones! Would def revist again...

This pub is very spartan. A bit 'American Werewolf' for non-yokels too. Beer very average, and not cheap. Not the most welcoming of boozers.

This is a great little pub which is packed to the rafters almost every weekend. It's old, warm and cosy. There's pool to be played, good beer and wine to be drank and it even has a selection of chalets in the back beer garden in case anyone wants to stay overnight.

There's a jukebox in the corner of the front room and it's a good location to stop off at during a pub crawl. I've never known any trouble to kick off and the landlord is a talkative, if sleepy-sounding, generous bloke.

A very pleasant and welcoming boozer, has a very nice beer garden and the pub itself was lively with a good mix of punters last Saturday night
