Average run down Eldridge Pope/Marstons pub. Poorly kept and crappy selection of beer, indifferent staff, it's only saving grace being the Green Room which is alright as a music venue. 5/10 clarkey_cat - 10 Jul 2008 11:44
A rather depressing atmosphere and decor. The bar staff are surly and the ale they serve is badly kept. This is of course if you can even get past the uninterrupted row of locals sat around the bar, who are not very keen that you should get a drink. I only go here for the green room which I would recommend if you like to watch endless, numbingly boring, crap and overly self-assured bands. Unfortunately my friends do. Otherwise I would steer well clear of this dive. jezlikebeer - 12 May 2007 09:47
Strange that such a small nice gig venue (the green room) is attached to such a horrible pub. The decor is aweful, theres dog shit all over the 'beer garden' and the staff are not only rubbish, but mildly terrifying!!!! popiellajones - 10 May 2007 10:37
Beer not kept very well. Pub got quite busy before the football so I suppose being fairly close to the ground they feel they don't have to try too hard. Running out of one of the few handpump ales during Saturday lunchtime also tends to suggest an indifferent approach to management. I don't think I would bother returning next season. danbert - 7 May 2006 09:38
