This was our first pub on Saturday's Cheltenham visit as it was the only one open at 10:45. Our pre match group all decided to have a breakfast here with our beer. Only one lad was serving so there was a wait to get served. There are quite a number of hand pumps here however the six available were duplicated on another six. There was also another bank of two or three hand pumps with three further duplicate pump clips. After seeing three pump clips of Hung Drawn and Portered we were rather annoyed to be told that it was not available. I know a few Wetherspoons pubs that have 'Available Soon' surrounds on beer that is not yet ready. Surely if a pub does not have these, why is the pump clip not turned round? This is false advertising and really annoys customers when you think you have chosen a beer especially after waiting to get served. It is even more annoying when you order the beer for friends sitting some way away from the bar. Love_good_ale - 15 Oct 2008 19:19
Not the worst Spoons I have been to, but still remains like most others...grumpy staff, uncleaned tables, sticky floors and very very dark inside...not sure why they cant invest in some lighting. OK for the evenings, but during the daytime, your eyes have to adjust to the especially dark interior. OK seating areas, some couches, stools, tables to eat at etc, but usually dirty. Always intimdating when walking in as there are stand-at tables where the local older men stand at, so girls, dont go in wearing a skirt! Just make sure you have ID even if you're 30....my mates ALWAYS get ID'ed no matter how old. Food terrible, no surprised there, but their selection of beverages is, as usual, unbeatble in terms of choice and price. fran - 4 Jul 2008 10:30

It is true that the pub is dirty, the staff unfriendly and in the evening is full of bottle drinking chavs out for a fight. But in the day time it is great for cheap beer and sometimes a cheap curry. beeker170572 - 2 Sep 2007 00:01
Generally a bad Wetherspoons. Have had trouble in the past when a barstaff could not work the Strongbow tap, could not find the wine glassess, and charged for the wrong wine (all in the one serving). The manager (whose fault it was, the girl had clearly been dropped in it without any training) would not identify himself by name so had to describe him as the small bald man when I complained to head office. Service is always poor but the drinks are cheap so I drop in sometimes and stay if there is no queue at the bar. Food not too good. Oh, and the other day there was a large rat running aroung the front patio, scattering customers sat there. Then it tried to get through the front door. I kid you not! cheltenham99 - 23 Jul 2007 10:02
