Have been told today that this pub is now closed & boarded up.

A real shame, as it was a quality pub, with a great landlord.

Does anyone have any idea as to what happened?

Myself and several friends have started using the Red Cow again since the demise of the Cranbrook. I'm happy to report that it's an excellent pub with pretty much everything you need for a good night out. If you're visiting the area, give this a try.

Great food, friendly atmosphere, shows most sports with big screens. Good darts and rugby following. Nice garden and friendly staff. Good place to go in Ilford. Much better since refurbishment.
