Following recent (endless!) renovations, this is apparently no longer a pub (nor called the Red Lion) but a restaurant.

This place used to have a good crowd on friday and saturday nights. then they changed the dj and the place has gone downhill a little bit. sometimes the place is really busy and other times the place can be really empty. the manager is a nice guy and always friendly, i know he is doing his bit to get the place a better reputation and is promoting the bar at various events. the security has got more tighter, which is a good thing after the trouble that has taken place there in the past, all in all a good night out.

No longer a Lloyds now the Red Lion I believe. May go there tonight. I'll let you know what it's like now.

Recently aquired by Wetherspoons as part of their Lloyds No 1 chain, this pub has had several names including The Greene Castle,Blah-blahs,and the Rat & carrot.

Then Wetherspoon took over the pub and converted it into one of the best Lloyds No 1 Bars.

As a Lloyds No 1 Bar the staff are very friendly and welcoming, nice food and a late Licence on Friday and Saturday Nights.
