| This is a big old Victorian boozer like many others in Eastbourne. It feels pretty rough and ready with a pool table in one corner, a piano in another and CCTV pointing in every direction. The barmaid was very friendly, but there is only a limited selection of standard lager available. There is a TV in the centre of the room that was showing the formula 1 whilst I was there. There were also some free chicken legs lying around the bar, but the locals didn’t touch them so I gave them a wide berth. I’d probably not go back in as the Marine is across the road and the ‘Back to the Old Skool’ nights aren’t really my cup of tea anymore, but they do explain the CCTV. Strongers - 13 Aug 2008 08:00 |
