| Colourful exterior makes the pub stand out from the rest of the street. A bit dark red interior. Had the Harveys which was nice enough. Front area is lower bar area raised and rear dining area and garden goes back down again. Closes at 2:30 on a Saturday. Snarling_Mallard - 17 Apr 2011 11:09 |
| I agree with the previous reviewer. To my mind, The Marine shines like a beacon of hope in the middle of Dumpsville! There are some terrible pubs nearby, but this place is consistently high on cleanliness, standards and service. The food can be a little pricey, but i have never had a bad meal there yet, and it's worth it for the wonderful warmth and ambience in the place. There are no tricks here. No TV, jukebox, pool table, music, quizzes or entertainment of any kind, and yet it is ALWAYS busy. That's the mark of a damn good, well-run local pub.
