Characterful, well-kept Fullers pub that’s a very friendly place to drink before/after a game. I can imagine it would be a great local. mozzzzzz - 25 Nov 2011 10:51
Have been in here many times, pre and post Brentford games. Always seen a mix of home and away fans, invariably mixing perfectly happilly and chatting about their respective teams. Furthermore, have never heard any 'chanting' of any description, or unruly behaviour aside from a handful of bitter Welshmen a decade ago. For a pub literally across the road from a ground, service is efficient in a practised and admittedly somewhat unsmiling way. Critically, given the location, they haven't had to resort to the dreaded plastic 'glasses' on my visits. Best of the 4 corners by a margin. LondonWolf - 27 Oct 2011 21:48
after hearing so much about this pub i was very excited to find out that we would get to play brentford at home so that i could visit. i wish i had never bothered. the staff do not have a clue what is going on, they are old and miserable and not welcoming at all, the pub is small and stinks of urine, the landlord seems to only care about the money that goes in his till as he lets all the riff raff in who chant and make you feel uncomfortable as you are sure that a fight will be about to kick off, which explains why there is such a massive police presence outside the pub. to make matters worse i heard to local say to each other the the landlord puts his prices up on football days. and the service and the beer is not all that. bellabee250 - 16 Oct 2011 13:15
The bar staff did a good job serving the busy crowd of football goers with reasonably kept ale. Overall seemed like a nice place to have a beer. toorantom - 2 Oct 2011 16:07
On entering the establishment I was greeted by the gentleman behind the bar with a call of "ALWIGHT MATE, WHAT YOU HAVING?" I asked for a white wine spritzer although it seemed that all the white wine was out of stock, that is if you do not like overly dry types (which I do not!!!). Instead I had a pint of lager, the glass it came in was stained and not nearly as clean as one would have hoped for. I made comment of this to the bar-man who glared at me intimidatingly, I chose not to pursue it and sat down by the entrance to the toilet. This was a bad decision as there was a distinct aroma of urine filling the air every time the toilet door was swung open. This was happening very frequently as lots of the men were nipping in and out of the loo with alarming regularity. On top of the urine smell a distinct woft of cannabis passed by, possibly from outside the front of the or maybe the rear garden (I could not tell). The locals inside are friendly enough although there is proliferate use of the 'c' and 'f' words so maybe best not to take your children with you. I doubt very much I will be returning to this pub and would urge others to stay clear too! The sort of patron that frequents this place is not of a civil nature and the air of criminality hangs high within the Griffin walls. Benyaminos - 22 Sep 2011 12:33
