A well presented and maintained pub with very good service. Staff were quick , efficient and friendly. Beer was very good , the food was expensive but very tasty and generous portions. They also do a good pub quiz on monday nights , though i believe it is only monthly. One small gripe is that the music is often too, lpoud and not really matched to the overall mood of the pub. mikestokesambii - 5 Dec 2009 21:38
As would be expected there is a decent ale selection from the Fullers range in this place which is one of their ale and pie houses. There is also a selection of standard and premium lagers and my Guinness was good, but as mentioned by others it is very expensive. The bar is on the left hand side of the pub and it had a large plasma screen on a stand at the end of it which was showing Sky Sports News which was muted. At the rear of the pub there are some booths with a balcony area above them that seemed to have the only other people in that weren’t dining, although my visit was just after lunchtime. This is a decent pub, but it doesn’t stand out amongst its peers. Strongers - 5 Oct 2009 13:39
We visited here on a Friday evening. There were more people spilling onto the pavements outside than were inside, meaning we got served straight away and it wasn't too difficult to find a table. The interior is a little dark but none too unpleasant. The clientele was mainly city types, as you would expect. The beer range was all Fullers - Pride, Chiswick, ESB and Discovery. Handy enough for Chancery Lane tube. But as previous reviewers have said, if you're happy enough to walk that little bit further, you'll find better pubs with better beers. blue_scrumpy - 19 Sep 2009 11:29
I found the MM to be excellent for a central London pub in a busy area. Yes it's expensive but it is the middle of London. I went in there with a friend this lunchtime which was pretty busy. We were immediately greeted by a smiling very pleasant barmaid who asked if we wanted to have a table or just a drink. We opted for a table and, yes it's unpublike, but we were immediately served by a very pleasant and efficient female who took the drinks order and later the food one. The Pride was very good and the food was above average and arrived fairly quickly. The place, including the toilets, was very clean and they were very quick to clear and clean the tables. It may not be the ideal drinkers' pub but for a lunchtime stop off it's hard to beat. lyeemoon - 18 Aug 2009 16:21
Are Fullers trying to put this pub out of business? Prices have always been higher than average but I got charged £3.45 for a pint of 3.7% Batemans XB yesterday and the Kronenbourg is now £3.65 a pint. The pub has got noticeably quieter over the last six months or so and at those prices it’s easy to see why. I’ll be encouraging my regular drinking partners to find somewhere else for a lunchtime pint, there’s plenty of choice. Millay - 8 Apr 2009 13:37
