Nice to see this place re-opened. Seemed fairly busy here on a recent lunchtime visit. Food choice and quality was reasonable if a bit pricy. Friendly welcome from bar staff and a couple of locals who were in for a drink. Glastonbury Hedge Monkey and Doombar on handpump.

Went here for lunch, was very pleasantly surprised with the changes as I hadn't visited this pub for a few years. Had a lovely steak and the prices weren't too bad at all. Very comfortable seating and very nice staff. It's a dog friendly pub as well which is nice. I will definitely be making further visits.

Place quite smart and clean if a little bit clinical for my taste.Friendly welcome but with a poor choice of beer, Otter Bitter and the everpresent uninspiring Doom Bar. however the Otter was in good nick. Food OK but nothing special. Not quite sure how they managed to win the `Somerset Life` food and drinks award for the best country pub.

It re-opened this years and last evening we finally got around to paying a re-visit. The interior has been completely revamped and is now very smart and contemporary. The welcome was very warm and the service of both bar staff and waiting staff was excellent. Two ales on offer - Otter Bitter and Doom Bar, at 2.90 a pint is not bad for these parts. The pub is trying desperately hard to be a gastro-pub but although the food quality is good and is fair value for money, sadly the menu is quite pedestrian and uninspired. Nevertheless well above average and a good 7/10.

Yes, it was closed because of ongoing police inquiries. However those concerned are now in prison, and even better news - Punch Taverns have sold it, so it's now free of tie and run by an enthusiastic young couple. Two draught ales on my visit, both good, and the place inside is modern without being too contemporary. Food, too was pretty good and reasonably priced.
Will go again!
