user reviews of the Montpelier Inn, Brighton

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

This was my first local when i moved to Brighton from Eastbourne many moons ago. On my first visit to the Montpelier i felt so welcome by the landlord (Jeff) that it felt like i had been drinking in there for years.

Much improved by Jeff in recent times. Good friendly staff, great Sunday lunches. Still football friendly too.

Very busy on footy night so avoid if its not your game. Apart from that its nothing special and yes the gents pee troths are high on the wall.

A pleasant, clean, well kept pub and one of the few in the area to offer San Miguel on draught for less than £3 a pint! Plenty of screens dotted around made it a good place to watch football, though the place seemed to be full of Chelsea fans when I was there. An interesting point of note though is that the urinals in the gents seemed to be placed very high on the wall!

Great pub for watching the footy - nice atmosphere, friendly staff, well kept beer and you can even order in a pizza from the Italian place next door!
