Best boozer in Brighton and one of my favourites anywhere. Very friendly atmosphere with a wide range of people in there. Stoned_Moses - 6 Feb 2010 16:21
Was there a week ago. Beer (Hogs back) was very well kept and the place has, thankfully, kept all of its old friendliness and atmosphere. The loos are now immaculate and therefore seem alittle out of place! Great pub. adrianboult - 13 Jun 2009 15:32
It would appear that someone, somewhere is listening. Visited a couple of times over recent weeks tried beers from Arundel, Palmers and Hogs Back, all in excellent condition. Was told more beers from local(ish) brewers to come. The best pub in town, possibly. The best is this part of town by a country mile. Chris_King - 2 Jun 2009 12:20
Still the best pub in town, even with a poor ale selection. The gleaming new toilets do not really fit in with the more worn-in atmosphere of the rest of the pub but I guess it’s only a matter of time before they fall into disrepair if the state of the old toilets is anything to go by! I do wish they would put some of the passion they have for rum into providing a few interesting, well kept ales but you can't have everything.. napoleon_dynamite - 8 Oct 2008 10:40
They've just recently done the toilets up, so it's gone from a 5/10 to a 9/10. Great atmosphere, lots of Rum's, if that's your thing. Oldy worldy irish feel to the place. The best Thai food outside of Bangkok.... The only the downside is they could have more of a variety of Real Ales on rotation, but they don't (as yet). Keniff - 1 Oct 2008 21:27
