We also stumbled upon this pub, and popped in for a few drinks... Beer was Harvey's Best and St.Austell Tribute. After deciding it may be a good place to eat and asking for the menu, we discovered it served Lebanese cuisine... I have to say it was one of the best meals we've had and at a very reasonable price... stuffed vine leaves and Haloumi to start followed by Prawns and squid mains... Nice staff, busy and friendly... Great pub!

Whilst venturing on the cask marque trail we stumbled on this great pub which sold some great thai food. Try the spicy fried rice and the thai fiscakes. The beers were from a local microbrewery which we didn't see in any other place in Brighton. Friendly service and a relaxing feel to it.

Hard to argue with the other reviewers - this is at least one of the best pubs in Brighton and I've tried quite a few of the others. A very relaxed atmosphere, the food looked good and handy if you only have to stumble across the road to one of the guest houses in Madeira Place.

The best thing though is the 80+ rums on offer - they have all sorts from all over the world. I'm an ale fan but didn't get to them either night I was in.

Best boozer in Brighton and one of my favourites anywhere. Very friendly atmosphere with a wide range of people in there.

Was there a week ago.
Beer (Hogs back) was very well kept and the place has, thankfully, kept all of its old friendliness and atmosphere.
The loos are now immaculate and therefore seem alittle out of place!
Great pub.

It would appear that someone, somewhere is listening. Visited a couple of times over recent weeks tried beers from Arundel, Palmers and Hogs Back, all in excellent condition. Was told more beers from local(ish) brewers to come.
The best pub in town, possibly. The best is this part of town by a country mile.

Still the best pub in town, even with a poor ale selection. The gleaming new toilets do not really fit in with the more worn-in atmosphere of the rest of the pub but I guess its only a matter of time before they fall into disrepair if the state of the old toilets is anything to go by!

I do wish they would put some of the passion they have for rum into providing a few interesting, well kept ales but you can't have everything..

They've just recently done the toilets up, so it's gone from a 5/10 to a 9/10.
Great atmosphere, lots of Rum's, if that's your thing.
Oldy worldy irish feel to the place.

The best Thai food outside of Bangkok....

The only the downside is they could have more of a variety of Real Ales on rotation, but they don't (as yet).

Excellent Pub. Got home to find I'd lost my wallet. Went back and there it was behind the bar, with all my money still intact. One of the locals had handed it in. He'd only take a half in reward.

My favourite pub in Brighton and Hove. Always has a couple of beers on and a huge range of spirits. The thai food is very good and very cheap. Best thing about the place is the atmosphere- always buzzing and the music in the evenings is usually great. You will find quite a mix of people in here which adds to the fun.

Quite a big pub, with a good 'vibe'. Wide choice of drinks, friendly barstaff.

Fab little place for a late drink-and they have a really sweet cat to fuss over too.

Used to go here a lot when I worked at Amex (dirty great building across the road a bit) and had many a pleasant experience here. Nice beers, and great service.

quiet / friendly by day, livelier, dark and noisy at night..
Dj's play great "pre-Club" tunes.busy, but the service is efficient, helpful and friendly... a bit of a younger student type crowd at nights, really good vibe and they sell draught HOEGAARDEN which is seriously good beer / lager.
