| I went in this pub with my girlfriend 3 months ago and it was a stinking dirty hell hole. WHAT a TRANSFORMATION!! it was clean, there were people in the pub that wern't football hooligans and it actually had quite a warm pleasant feel to it. There were candles on the tables, It had been given a lick of paint and a choice of 2 real ales + numerous lagers and bottles. I was told that in January the kitchen will be opening. I will be back! Good to see this pub with so much potential on the up! geedavis - 26 Dec 2007 18:43 |
| I really fine it hard to say anything good about this pub. When it was a rough dive you could at least get a seat, albeit one stained with an unidentifiable sticky brown substance. Now its just another boring pub with no history or appeal. The landlord, or at least the guy in charge last time I visited, also is a bit strange – kept rearranging tables and chairs, may be he’s got an obsessive compulsive disorder? | I have been to the Wheatsheaf to watch rugby - it was heaving - but had a great atmosphere. And more recently I have been to the quiz on a Thursday night.. which was great fun! The food is cheaper than most London pubs & the portions are great. Worth a visit if you are a sports fan. stargazer - 28 Apr 2006 10:32 |
| Not a bad pub for food and real ale. Quiz night on Thursday's is a good reason to go, the quizmaster has an impressively loud voice (the quiz is good too!). extraordinary - 16 Feb 2006 14:29 |
