| RUBBISH, EXPENSIVE, PRETENTIOUS........always has been! thepubcritic - 8 Feb 2011 00:44 |
| I would genuinely like to get really excited about this pub because it does little wrong. The beer is well looked after, the food is generally good and the staff are always helpful but it still lacks something to make me want to go back time and again. If you visit this pub I doubt you'll be disappointed but equally you may not be overwhelmed either. It might be just one of those pubs that fairs better in the summer than the winter - its does have a nice garden area, making it one of the few pubs in the area to comfortably drink outside on warm days and nights. | Good pub, civilised. Great garden and good beer selection. Reasonable food, but no gastropub. Well worth a visit. MrBlue - 29 Apr 2009 17:47 |
| I still think this is the best pub in Fulham by a distance. Judging by the crowds that still flock to it most days of the week I guess I'm not the only one to think so. Beer prices are in line with the rest of the area although I don't think price is really a consideration for the type of people it attracts. The female count is always high - my girfriend puts that down to the fact that it doesn't show football, a good wine list and friendly staff. The food is very acceptable and certainly holds its own with other pubs/restaurants in the area. The staff tend to be very good and attentive - I think because the manager owns the place and is there every night. It has a garden that is obviously very popular in the summer so get there early if you want a table. While it's busy most nights of the week, people tend to go there weekdays to eat and relax and party more on Fridays and Saturdays. Highly recommended! eyespy - 16 Mar 2009 11:34 |
| They had Pride, Doom Bar and Landlord on. The Pride was distinctly average, and at £3.50 a pint is way over the top for this area. It has mostly boarded flooring, but with a bit of filthy carpet at one end of the room. Magenta and cream walls; padded magenta facing to the bar; sofas and high tables. The sofas may have been leather (or maybe a decent imitation) but for me they gave it a plastic feel to the place. Characterless and expensive sums this pub up forme. The best thing about it was the signed print of the Red Arrows on the wall. I won’t be back. RexRattus - 27 Feb 2009 22:38 |
