This place impresses only because it's in Oslo. Steamer is excellent, but that's about it. And what's with the all the small flies buzzing about the back booths? Get some old style insecticide or better yet -- mop up the stale spilled beer and other detritus! BeerBlaster - 22 Jan 2008 12:11
Good beer - good atmos. Tendency to serve the beer a little cold and a tad too fizzy (should that be carbonised...?). Please bring back the "bitter" - IPA is tasty but too heavy if you're having more than 2 - doesn't replace the bitter - "steamer" is your next best bet. Toasted sandwiches are only food - expensive even by Oslo standards and not too tasty. Still - there's always nuts. piningforrealale - 6 Feb 2006 02:42
They have just brewed their first organic beer, which has got a refreshing taste. The pub has also launched their beer for the Yuletide. Very friendly barmaids. rune - 4 Nov 2005 11:04
Visited the brewpub a couple of times this month. Have no complaints about the temperature - seems to be better. Same styles on as when Sigmund visited. Ask for "En alen ale" - their sample "tray" of 5 half-pints. Enjoyed all of them - particularly the IPA. Finn - 28 May 2005 12:44
| Norway’s first brewpub in modern times (est. 1989). Decent range of styles - pilsener, steam ale, bitter (not on when I was there), porter, stout, IPA. Seasonals: Summer: Wheat beer (Weiss), summer lager. Winter: Yule ale, Yule brew. Reasonable beer quality, particularly the stout, but most of them were unfortunately served far too cold when I was there in November. Some of the beers had too much carbonation for my taste.
