| Unremarkable corner boozer with unremarkable GK ales which were particularily average. There are a lot better pubs in Soho than this one and, come to think of it there is better Blue Posts in Soho as well Gann - 20 Feb 2009 09:26 |
| I work around the corner from the Blue Posts and have been going there for lunch regularly for the past 2 or 3 months as the food is OK and we normally get a table (there are normally 8-10 of us). However, on several occasions they forgot one of the meals and we've had to wait longer for it, been late back to work etc etc. The last straw was today, they forgot my meal and proceeded to serve my order to someone else who ordered after us. When I complained the waitress said she couldn't give me that meal and I'd have to wait. She checked and said my my meal was ready and coming out next - out it came only to be given to the table next to us. My colleagues had finished eating by this point. We complained and were told the kitchen staff were new, just not good enough. I got a refund and left hungry. Don't bother with this pub, the service is awful, the staff miserable and the beer choice limited. SohoSteve - 5 Dec 2008 17:09 |
| Has all the attributes of a clasic old school london boozer. 3 light bulbs emitting 15 watts of light between them. Small toilets, no mirror for the blokes, limited salty bar snacks, sodden beer towles, couple of dogs in the corner and a lovely old Labrador with a limp. The Beer was as standard as the 70's wall paper. PaulMeoff - 25 Sep 2008 14:54 |
| This is a smallish little corner pub. Only Abbott and GKIPA on handpump. The GKIPA tasted like it always does. It has some interesting looking leaded lights at the top of the bay windows that look like original features. If they are not original then they are remarkably good reproductions. This is a fairly unremarkable pub that is probably not worth the effort of seeking out, but OK for a pint if you are happy to be passing, although there are better places within easy walking distance. | This is a very small boozer with an upstairs area (I did not visit) and some seating outside with ample standing room. Greene King IPA and Abbott Ale were available from the friendly barmaid as well as some standard lagers. It was very busy on my visit so I didn’t stay long, but it would have probably been more enjoyable if I could have got a table. Strongers - 2 Sep 2008 11:05 |
