Have lived in the area for a number of years butonly found this gem of a pub a few months back.
Compared to some of the the other pubs in the area it has not been forced into the modern era but has stayed settled to its roots and is a true British pub. The food is well priced and is very good compared to other places with similiar prices. Has a very nice atmosphere and although seating area is a bit limited, normally you will be able to find a seat at the bar where you will be served on by some of the nicest barmen and women i have met in a while.
This is a really exquisit pub that i would truly recomened.

Oh isn't it pathetic when "customers" don't have the bottol to complain so resort to splashing it all over the internet for the world to see.. When i say "customers" I mean one of the new inn's regulars with a bee in their bonnet.

As for the "plain burger" as it is advertised on the menu, it is supposed to be plain. Also not frozen and 100% beef. As you are used to burger vans it must have been a shock to the system so your ignorance is forgiven.

So sorry the garnish wasnt to your high standards the chef has now started making smiley faces from the tomatos.

If you dislike too much salad dressing you could always ask for it on the side that way you can evenly distribute it throughout the salad!

As for the "not a chef in sight" comment if the "possible landlady" put on a doctors coat would you think she was a doctor? For goodness sake.

Constructive criticism is always welcome, but man up rather than bitching on the internet like a scared little mouse, Everybody in this business is doing their best you can't get it right every time.

As we're quite new to the area, wanted to try out this pub. Looks good on the website and a pretty from the outside. Went for dinner tonight. Big mistake.
Freshly cooked it may be, but it wasn't a chef in the kitchen, it was the lady from the bar, possibly landlady? Ordered burgers - have had better from burger van. Couldn't eat mine, husband only ate his to be polite. Not sure what meat it was, though menu said beef. Obviously frozen burgers. No onion, no imagination in arrangement of garnish . Daughter had Caesar salad - chicken part was OK, but base of salad was finely chopped iceberg lettuce soaked in caesar dressing, literally awash with it. Very poor. Would not recommend to anyone. How they have nerve to charge 7.95 for each of those meals is hard to comphrehend. Will stick with the New Inn, where they have REAL beef/steak burgers and much better value for money food with a proper chef! You have been warned.

TODAY September 11th: In aid of charities SERV (BLoodrunners) and the local ScoutGroup who are running the BBQ, the Sadlers Arms is hosting its all day festival of real ales (12 local brews) and an eclectic mix of LIVE BANDS performing voluntarily in aid of charity. On all day. Hopefully the weather holds out as the met. promises.
This is a bit late mentioning but only discovered a day or so ago.

Looks lovely from the outside - we had high hopes... strong smell of boiling cabbage permeated the small seating area. Very poor food, tatty condition, couldn't wait to get out.
