Have lived in the area for a number of years butonly found this gem of a pub a few months back.
Compared to some of the the other pubs in the area it has not been forced into the modern era but has stayed settled to its roots and is a true British pub. The food is well priced and is very good compared to other places with similiar prices. Has a very nice atmosphere and although seating area is a bit limited, normally you will be able to find a seat at the bar where you will be served on by some of the nicest barmen and women i have met in a while.
This is a really exquisit pub that i would truly recomened.

Oh isn't it pathetic when "customers" don't have the bottol to complain so resort to splashing it all over the internet for the world to see.. When i say "customers" I mean one of the new inn's regulars with a bee in their bonnet.

As for the "plain burger" as it is advertised on the menu, it is supposed to be plain. Also not frozen and 100% beef. As you are used to burger vans it must have been a shock to the system so your ignorance is forgiven.

So sorry the garnish wasnt to your high standards the chef has now started making smiley faces from the tomatos.

If you dislike too much salad dressing you could always ask for it on the side that way you can evenly distribute it throughout the salad!

As for the "not a chef in sight" comment if the "possible landlady" put on a doctors coat would you think she was a doctor? For goodness sake.

Constructive criticism is always welcome, but man up rather than bitching on the internet like a scared little mouse, Everybody in this business is doing their best you can't get it right every time.

As we're quite new to the area, wanted to try out this pub. Looks good on the website and a pretty from the outside. Went for dinner tonight. Big mistake.
Freshly cooked it may be, but it wasn't a chef in the kitchen, it was the lady from the bar, possibly landlady? Ordered burgers - have had better from burger van. Couldn't eat mine, husband only ate his to be polite. Not sure what meat it was, though menu said beef. Obviously frozen burgers. No onion, no imagination in arrangement of garnish . Daughter had Caesar salad - chicken part was OK, but base of salad was finely chopped iceberg lettuce soaked in caesar dressing, literally awash with it. Very poor. Would not recommend to anyone. How they have nerve to charge 7.95 for each of those meals is hard to comphrehend. Will stick with the New Inn, where they have REAL beef/steak burgers and much better value for money food with a proper chef! You have been warned.

TODAY September 11th: In aid of charities SERV (BLoodrunners) and the local ScoutGroup who are running the BBQ, the Sadlers Arms is hosting its all day festival of real ales (12 local brews) and an eclectic mix of LIVE BANDS performing voluntarily in aid of charity. On all day. Hopefully the weather holds out as the met. promises.
This is a bit late mentioning but only discovered a day or so ago.

Looks lovely from the outside - we had high hopes... strong smell of boiling cabbage permeated the small seating area. Very poor food, tatty condition, couldn't wait to get out.

Quite a nice pub inside or out. Unfortunately Green King IPA was nats p the night I visited. Food passable but easy to find better quality and cheaper food locally.

A good country pub with friendly staff and reasonably priced freshly cooked food. Always a friendly welcome. Seats under cover outside for smokers. Dogs are welcome. Toilets could do with a makeover.

Never been in this pub, as its out of my area, but know people who work there, and they say it's a really nice pub, maybe one day i shall check it out!

Our local, and a nice little pub. Good food and beer, and very welcoming to children too (no playground any more, which is a pity, though). Haven't tried the pizzas, as they seem quite pricey, and anyway the rest of the menu is always great.

Oh yes! live music thursdays, fantastic food all day every day, sue and clive make you feel more than welcome and frankly they are the best "mine hosts" this pub has had in a long while, long may they reign!!! Love it, watch out for loads of Harley Davidsons now and then, because they love it here too!

Had some lovely evenings here, good music nights serves a decent pint, and service with a smile

This charming country pub is now serving up pizza's to be delivered or for all those starving patrons, who always feel empty inside, and can't be bothered to cook, to take away after a few pints in the company of friends.

No More Sunday night jazz! Not now worth a visit!!

Good food at a reasonable price. Jazz on a Sunday night, three times a month. Well worth the trip along the A3, despite the ever increasing traffic flows!

We go to live jazz at The Saddlers Arms most Sundays and have eaten there once on a Saturday. It is a friendly family-run pub with good food and real ales; Youngs Bitter, Fullers London Pride, Spitfire, etc. plus a small range of good wines by the glass. Despite its small size, there is usually plenty of room, although it was packed to capacity on New Years Eve when there was a free buffet ! Some comfortable seats would be welcome; my wife takes a cushion.

Very much a local pub, just gone under new management, has live bands and quiz nights. Food is reasonably priced and so far we havent had any complaints! House white wine is never cold enough though and the House red is passable. Quite a good choice of beers. Lots of locals tend to frequent on Thursday nights so if you live in the estate opposite this is the place to meet your neighbours!!
