good little pub in a lovely spot. simple but reasonably priced food, decent beer and a bar with a lot of character

nice garden out the back too, so plenty of things for the kids to play on or space for them to run about

doesn't take cards though - so take plenty of cash if you're planning a session or a meal!

I never get bored of visiting this pub, such a warm feeling for such an old building, friendly staff and the beer selection is 10/10 and the house cider isnt bad either.
One of the top pubs in the South of England.

I love this pub because it is still a pub - not a restaurant. Great selection of beer, staff who like to chat, simple but tasty bar food. Locals, cosy fires in winter, conservatory and garden in summer. If only it was in walking distance of my house.....I'd be a ruined man!

Quite a find! Well-kept John Batcheldon real cider, good bar food, comfy building, no canned music, all reigned over by a haughty tortoishell cat who clearly knows she is the real boss.

This place is accessible by postbus from Horsham at Mon-Fri lunchtimes but don't take a party - the post-van 'bus' has only four seats!

If you like good beer, do yourself a favour and visit this pub. Too many different beers to mention as they constantly change, but to name a few (always in tip-top condition) they've had: Weltons Treefellas, WJ King Old, Prizefighter, Pride'n'Joy, Dark Star Best etc etc. Never the same selection but always something worth trying. Bar food is basic but well cooked (the home-made chilli with chips is excellent) and is great value for money. All staff always happy to chat. A real beers lovers pub, probably not best for families.
