| Perfectly acceptable, but £17 for 5 pints is steep for anywhere outside London filf - 6 Nov 2011 20:33 |
| Called in yesterday for a quick pint. 3.8% gravity beer set me back £3.40, which is pretty prices. I remember their Union Gold (now Castle Rock Harvest Pale) being £1.50 a pint! It's still a cracking pub though not as busy as it once was, but then again I don't get in there much beyond 6pm. One of the best ale pubs in Lincoln with a great beer garden. | Made first visit for 10 years, when it had a legendary status that seems to have diminished in recent years, but seems a lovely place to enjoy very good pint of Batemans Swallow in the sun. I suspect the problem, if there is one, is just that there are far more pubs offering a wide range of beers like the Victoria now so it gets a bit overlooked. | Our second visit on Saturday evening 23 July 2011, the night the sun allowed a beer garden outing! Good beer selection as usual, Mauldons Midsummer Ale one of the beersm friendly bar staff worth a visit!!! markh737 - 25 Jul 2011 01:57 |
| Called in recently for a pint. Moved out of town a year ago, this used to be my local, but I still manage to visit quite frequently courtesy of the local village bus service! Cracking pub, always consistent. Great beer 7-8 beers all well kept. Quality beer garden under the castle walls. A regular in the Good Pub Guide and Good Beer Guide. Cannot argue with that!
