i used to work at the windmill part time about 7 years ago, and i loved it. now i find that after a horrible refurb its now closed. tragic.great landlord and landlady(she from south carolina,he ex punk qpr supporter)and fantastic music. now were just left with the insipid theme and brand pubs with no face and no character. let her R.I.P.

Used to come here a lot. We called it "The Pub That Looks Like It's On A Council Estate". The hand-pump Tetley's was always really good and decently priced, and the staff weren't fly-by-nights so they got to know their punters. It was a cosy place in a slightly seedy way. The toilets were a bit foul... that smell never leaves you.

that's why i said a BUS from Camden, it's only 5 mins on the 24 or 29 !! Look, I'm not saying it is the greatest pub in the world, but it is much better than it was ? Do you suggest that they keep the sticky chairs and sticky carpet ??? it hasn't exactly changhed by all recognition. i am in favour for pubs being traditonal - hey, bring back saloon and public bars i say - but progress is progress. it is hardly an office pub ! Don't work there I'm afraid just a casual observer. If you want your old pub back, why not try the Mortimer just along the road, cheap ale, seperate bars nice. P.s there was never any proper ale in there in the first place !!!!
