No real ale on draught, bur a reasonable choice of bottled beer. Not bad, but could do better. rpadam - 1 Jun 2008 17:49
Thanks for the comments ADB and poshbloke .... look forward to seeing you again soon. theflagship - 20 Jul 2007 00:41
Under the new management (Our visit - May 2007) this is a prime, and very rare now, traditional pub. The warmth of the welcome given to 2 strangers, en-route to Holland with a boat to deliver, was stonking! Real ale is REAL and perfect; the landlords entheusism and hospitality is boundless; food is excellent, and the clientel are sound enough and friendly. If you struggle to remember what a real trad pub is like - try the Flagship. (unless you are in a hurry 'cos you'll never get out of the place!!!) Thanks guv for a blinding nights hospitality. Tony & Angus. ADB - 19 Jul 2007 13:11
This is simply an excellent place to spend an evening. It's the most hospitable place I've been in for as long as I can remember. Good beers, wine, food, bar snacks when you want them, music on the jukebox with every song you can think of and the service is the best ever. We popped in there recently for one beer and couldn't leave, had such a good night we went back the next time we were in town and will always go there now we know it's there. Well worth it! You HAVE to go there... poshbloke - 29 Jun 2007 15:20
