| can i just say anyone who has anything bad to say about this pub does not know how to have a good night out. i go here every saturday and i must say i have never found a more friendly pub. i used to go to a few bars and then go on to a club but recently since it had gone 24 hour i now stay in there all night and every weekend the pub is full of people dancing and enjoying themselves with no complaints. the barstaff are quick and friendly. i have never seen any fights or have never had a bad thing to say about only that when it gets to closing time i hate to leave!!!! cmiller27011984 - 8 Jan 2007 20:10 |
| After leaving a pub round the corner from the Britannia due to a fight we encountered a young lady who asked us for ID explaining that peolple were on ASBO's in the town, this made us feel very young again but also very safe, the pub is a little grimey but was also very clean. The bar man informed us that a refurbishment would be happening soon, but that the owner who we also found out was the young lady on the door, has been saving to do this. The beer was served in clean glasses, and was a very good pint. Toilets are old but were clean and toilet roll was available. The Pub was very busy and a good mixture of young and old all seemed to be enjoying their evenings. The DJ played a variety of Music and even a few from the 60's for us. Must admit we felt safer in this venue than in any other we visited in Dover. Good Doorstaff and friendly Bar Staff. We were also told that the same Landlady has been there for nearly 4 years. Would visit again when in Dover... We even stayed out until 4.00am!!!! For the age of the Pub the staff do a very good job. We asked to have a look at the Restaurant and if the same refurbishment is done with the Downstairs area of the pub it will be lovely venue.Clean Toilets although old, Clean Glasses and Good quality beer...It doesn't get much better...we didn't actually worry too much about the decor, we were having far too much fun. Hope it's the same Landlady and staff next time we visit. And Cask Ale too boot!!! Alicampbell - 11 Oct 2006 05:58 |
| Could be a great pub , it has a juke box , pool table and dart board and has got plenty of space the only trouble is its not looked after and looks dark and grimey when you enter the barman told me they have a 24hrs licence for the weekends but to be quite honest i would be shocked to find anyone in there unless they desperate! please please somebody take it over and sort it out.
