After paying the nearby Foresters a visit, we pulled up outside the Kings Head, the brewery tap for the 1648 brewery. I'm surprised to see that the pub hasn't been in the Good Beer Guide since 2009. So I suspect there was a falling out with CAMRA? Nevertheless, this is a good pub with a large room around the bar and a side function room. There is also a patio at the rear for smokers. 3 of the brewery's ales were on - Bee Head, Signature & Laughing Frog. Also available was Harveys Sussex Best Bitter. You can also buy bottles to take out. Recommended.

What a find! A lovely country pub with its own micro brewery next door. Sit out the front and watch the world pass by or in the lovely walled garden out the back and watch the pet rabbits and ducks. A varying range of ales on sale with a new one every month. The two I tried were lovely. Well worth finding.

I was looking forward to visiting this pub but due to lack of appropriate attire (tweed jackets, breeches and girls socks) we wernt given the warmest of welcomes (saved for the local shooting club). Beer seemed OK but didnt stay around for second pint

A very warm welcome from the landlord and explanation of the 1648 ales on offer. Beer quality tip top and sandwich and the lunch we had was good too. Well worth a visit.

Great pub! Excellent choice of real ales from the micro brewery, good food very reasonably priced, friendly staff. What more could you want?!
