| Well - the previous entries say it all. What a gem. We have sampled the fare twice in the last 2 weeks at lunchtime and couldn't wish for more. | Visited lunchtime today for the first time and was very impressed. Great unspoilt country pub and very busy for a chilly, dull day. The serving of beer did not come second to the food, as is the norm so often these days, and I had an excellent pint of Sussex served by an efficient and friendly barmaid. | Everything that a country pub should be! Quaint and quirky pub, friendly staff, landlord that makes you feel welcome and like you have known him for years, affable punters, fantastic food at a great price and very generous portions (cheesey chips a must! Along with pavlova and banoffee pie!). I cannot sing it's praises enough. May look a little rough and ready round the edges inside but thats only because it is so well-used!
