Fine place and good time was had by all!! This is our new watering hole and there are 14 of us. never been made to feel so welcome and the staff are the friendliest ever! It gets jammed at weekends with a real good mix of folks, and I have to say that Jason the boss/DJ really did play EVERYTHING I asked for and that was a big list! All the staff were so nice and they even rang us taxis at the end of the night to get us to Corp as we were too drunk to walk!!!! SAM445 - 12 Feb 2007 15:59
Well, the toilets have been sorted - they now have chalk boards so you can leave comments / general drunken scrawl ! Rock karaoke on monday nights(that is amazing) fresh sandwiches available during the week. More real ale than you can shake a stick at - what more can you ask for ? Have rated it as a "9" as there is always some room for improvement. Mad.Muzz - 24 Jan 2007 16:36
Man this is wicked!! Went in for first time in 4 months and how different it is now...gone are the punks and drop outs and it was packed to the rafters friday T time with a really great range of people....cool music and the whole vibe was very nice. They had 4 real ales on and the HobGoblin was spot on.....plus the Black Sheep was very moorish!! No more extreme punk types to put you off or stare at you, it was office girls, old rockers, students, what a great mix to find in one pub. Miles and miles better than the Wankers Draft next door, the only thing was the toilets still need a few coats of paint to bring them up to the standard of the rest of the pub, but thats just a small criticism, the place is amazingly hip considering its location and recent history...no more chavvies either crazykat - 17 Dec 2006 17:58
Dove and Rainbow has undergone major facelift and is now not the dirty smelly tramp infested hole it was 3 months ago.....its clean and has ten real ales on, and great staff. The horrid sulky goth barmaids are long gone, and the clientele are very much improved, no dodgy drug dealers or people selling stolen laptops...its now a good city centre circuit pub as well as having live music, rock discos, pinball machines, and painted in gorgeous cool light purple and black.....love it to bits.....spending a lot of time here now... jessica22 - 17 Dec 2006 15:21
This place has just re-opened under new management and is miles better than before - no pool table, no kids, just a great relaxed atmosphere. The emphasis is still very much on rock/alternative music, but not so dark and heavy to put off your average punter, and they've started doing real ale too. I first went in here a few months ago and swore never to return - it was dark, dingy and unwelcoming. Amazing what a lick of paint and some friendly bar staff can do for a pub - not to mention the great ale on offer! Toilets still need a bit of TLC though!! muppetta - 12 Nov 2006 20:34
