I was very impressed with this place. The ales drop out of barrels on the bar back, and were all very good. I had a good chat with the staff, and learnt a bit about poker, which they seem to take very seriously. Will vist again.

The surly geezer's still there but he loves his live music and keeps his beer well, and the lunchtime sandwiches are good value.
Local promoters Roots Around the World have started presenting regular live music in the low slung atmospheric barn with international roots musicians.

Excellent well-kept beers. Occasional and surprisingly eclectic live music in the adjacent barn.
Good food too !

I have visited three times in the last 2 months and also found a surly gent behind the bar. The bar ladies are a lot friendlier. Food is good, and the beers OK, so not much to complain about.

The landlord's a little surly but the beer's good. Was Gales, now (of course) Fuller's.
