Stopped in for a pint after a long walk. Greene King pub , so IPA, Abbot, so I went for the unknown, which was Hog`s Back T.E.A. which was 4.2%. Good strong taste, with a bitter finish. The Swan itself is picturesque , friendly, and glancing at the menu, quite reasonably priced. I`ll give it a go, on my next visit.

Going from the reviews below, things have not changed here much in the period since they were posted. Went here for dinner with wife and mother-in-law last night. We were ALL disappointed with our food. Things didn't come with what they were supposed to and we weren't informed of this. I whose my meal on the basis of having some fresh veg with it and ended up with chips. Believe me, I like chips, but didn't fancy anything with Chios on this occasion. Complained to the member of staff serving us to no avail about our grievances and manager was "unavailable" due to another staff member going ill. Not a great place by any stretch of the imagination. Avoid - especially if going here for anything special - as from what we heard from the table next to us, they'd had a 21st birthday meal ruined.

Has GK 1799 in here. Tasty pint of a tricky beer. Would certainly come here again.

Just got back from the Swan a family 'Christmas', get togeher, we had ordered our meals for the day five weeks previous. I don't know why we bothered they got the meals wrong, and said we had got our list wrong until we insisted they show us the list they had
My particular dish was apparently not on the menu any more! One of our party had lasagna which was okay, the rest of us had a mediocre turkey dinner, luke warm, smothered in gravy.
Mediocre sweets (you can't mess up cheescake or profiteroles when they are straight from the packet) but the cheese and biscuits served straight from the fridge with iced cheese was not brilliant. The service was incredibly slow and some of the waitresses had 'attitude', we eventually got a weak apology and given to two bottles of wine.
So below avarage food and bad service all served in a cold room...............give it a miss.

13th March 2011, just returned home from a meal at the Swan in Bromham, Bedfordshire and we are sitting here, all four of us having some extra food to eat. We booked a table at the Pub for 1pm today for my birthday treat. We arrived around five past and were shown to our table, that is when it went downhill. My wife placed our order for four meals and drinks. My wife brought our drinks back to our table and we waited, and waited. An hour later still no food, then around 5 minutes later our food arrived. To say we “all” were disappointed would be an understatement. The steak I ordered was well cooked, no fat and looked good. The rest of the plate did not contain what I would call a meal. I was given one mushroom and half a tomato, along with a handful of dry chips. My wife and eldest daughter had the salmon salad. I am not sure how it can be classed as a “Salmon” salad as you had to look hard to see the one piece of thin Salmon sitting among the field of salad leaves. Yes it was a large bowl of salad but in no way a Salmon Salad. The only meal which was reasonable was our youngest daughters and that was a burger. However, she asked for Tomato Ketchup, but was given some spicy relish type of source which has badly disagreed with her.
The icing on the cake for this meal was the bill. In all for the four of us, who ate around two and a half meals was over £40 with one drink each.
Would I go again –NO, would I recommend it – NO. The restaurant is nice, a nice spread of drinks, layout is good and it has a nice feeling, but the food is disgraceful, and the service is oh so slow. A venue we will be avoiding and suggesting the same to our friends. Not nice!!
