Just got back from the Swan a family 'Christmas', get togeher, we had ordered our meals for the day five weeks previous. I don't know why we bothered they got the meals wrong, and said we had got our list wrong until we insisted they show us the list they had
My particular dish was apparently not on the menu any more! One of our party had lasagna which was okay, the rest of us had a mediocre turkey dinner, luke warm, smothered in gravy.
Mediocre sweets (you can't mess up cheescake or profiteroles when they are straight from the packet) but the cheese and biscuits served straight from the fridge with iced cheese was not brilliant. The service was incredibly slow and some of the waitresses had 'attitude', we eventually got a weak apology and given to two bottles of wine.
So below avarage food and bad service all served in a cold room...............give it a miss.

13th March 2011, just returned home from a meal at the Swan in Bromham, Bedfordshire and we are sitting here, all four of us having some extra food to eat. We booked a table at the Pub for 1pm today for my birthday treat. We arrived around five past and were shown to our table, that is when it went downhill. My wife placed our order for four meals and drinks. My wife brought our drinks back to our table and we waited, and waited. An hour later still no food, then around 5 minutes later our food arrived. To say we “all” were disappointed would be an understatement. The steak I ordered was well cooked, no fat and looked good. The rest of the plate did not contain what I would call a meal. I was given one mushroom and half a tomato, along with a handful of dry chips. My wife and eldest daughter had the salmon salad. I am not sure how it can be classed as a “Salmon” salad as you had to look hard to see the one piece of thin Salmon sitting among the field of salad leaves. Yes it was a large bowl of salad but in no way a Salmon Salad. The only meal which was reasonable was our youngest daughters and that was a burger. However, she asked for Tomato Ketchup, but was given some spicy relish type of source which has badly disagreed with her.
The icing on the cake for this meal was the bill. In all for the four of us, who ate around two and a half meals was over £40 with one drink each.
Would I go again –NO, would I recommend it – NO. The restaurant is nice, a nice spread of drinks, layout is good and it has a nice feeling, but the food is disgraceful, and the service is oh so slow. A venue we will be avoiding and suggesting the same to our friends. Not nice!!

Four out of a group of six were served possibly the driest risotto ever, topped with a very over cooked chicken breast. true we were offered another dish and we did not pay for it, but there was no apology or comment from any of the staff or the landlady. An apology for spoiling a birthday celebration for a frien would have been nice.
i don't think we shall be going again.

This seems to be the only pub in the area doing food on Sunday nights, and it was certainly pulling the crowds when we visited. Even better, they were offering two meals for £9.95. The food was fantastic value and, despite the pub being busy, the service was excellent. Would recommend the 'Trio of Puddings' dessert. The 'LBW' beer was good too.

Popped in here yesterday evening - friendly staff and friendly locals. Didn't try any food but the Stella was OK. Yeah - quite a decent pub.
