This pub is a big disappointment. Even though it's a Greene King pub... Abbott Ale has NEVER be available when I go there (granted, it is rarely). The refurbishment is nice, compared to what it looked like before, but the quality is not there. Avoid the food and don't expect speed and/or efficiency from the staff. It's a shame because the pub has so much potential. theyak - 23 Aug 2008 20:05
I have to say, this has got to be one of the worst run pubs i've been in for a long time.. The food is not much to be desired! Over priced, and under sized.. It tastes like it comes from a microwave :( very disappointing considering the price! The beer, Does the current manager even know how to clean the lines??? The staff, very rarely smiling.. Lucky if they can understand your order, some members of staff drink on duty, while others just stand around gossiping waiting for the customers to serve themselves? The bad atmosphere and bad attitude behind the bar makes the drink taste just that little bit worse! Overall , this is a great pub to vist if your looking for bad attitude, bad service and the worst beer for miles.. yourloss - 9 Aug 2008 02:27
If you were there when Rangers got done 5-0 you would have been treated to the sight of me screaming all sorts of obscenities at the big screen in the main bar. Wankers. Still... They've sorted out the one thing that used to really hack me off about the place since the refurb and got some staff with a bit of a sense of humour. The guvnor's a Dubliner who doesn't mind a bit of craic and the staff are accordingly that much more relaxed. The pool bar is still definitely local-strong although if you fancy a game you won't get the funny eye. Food isn't terrible but isn't great either - sandwiches and wraps are a meal enough if you don't fancy a bit of grease. As has already been said it's a good enough place to watch football. Fairly basic outdoor seating front and back for the good weather and the smoking ban but it does the job. Unfortunately the got rid of the quiz nights and now have this electronic link-up thing where you play against anyone in the pub with the questions on one of the screens. Draws a fair share of anoraks but harmless enough. Live music on a Friday & Saturday (which draws it's own crowd). Overall a decent boozer that does the simple competently if you're in the area but it's enough of a hike from White City or Latimer Road tubes to be worth travelling for. random_ranger - 21 Jun 2007 16:46
visited for QPR's recent 5-0 drubbing by Southend. 2 bars - one smaller and for pool, the other large with many tables. plenty of screens for sports lovers and deep fried food a-plenty. It'll do. evers. - 20 Mar 2007 23:22
This pub has been refurbished and is now a complete pile of sh*t. All the class and dingyness has been removed in favour of no soul and dreadful barstaff which cannot seem to handle drink and food orders at the same time. It's probably why you used to order from the kitchen seperately in the old Pav. I tried to keep a brave face but had to leave without so much as a sip of a pint when the queue began to resemble January Sales (through incompetence) and swearing and scowls became the norm. 40 minutes later two of my freinds did the same with their money refunded as their grub still hadn't arrived. I absolutely hate what has happened to one of my old favourite pubs. Married here? I wouldn't touch this gaff with yours... m_shannon - 8 Sep 2006 15:33
