| Stopped in for lunch on the way to somewhere else and was very pleasantly surprised. Nice clean little drinker with a reasonable range of ales and friendly, efficient staff. Unfortunately as I was driving I can only comment on the orange juice (very nice as orange juice goes I suppose). Food was very good. Standard pub menu plus some nice looking specials. Good sized portions too. If I had to be Mr Picky then the toilets although clean could do with a refurb - brighter lighting and some cheerier decor would work wonders. Definitely coming back. | I have been drinking here for a while on an occasional basis. The beer is Fullers based as you would expect from a Fullers pub (reference previous comment). I have always found the land lord and lady to be most friendly and courteous and the staff in general are very amenable. The food has always been of good quality and well presented and as yet, the beer has been of a very good standard. This is a pub I would happily recommend to anyone. Oh, and the band night kick ass!! | Tried this pub just before Christmas. quite basic for a town centre pub, and not very busy. Staff were friendly, and the bar snacks were simple but tasty. Too many baseball caps around for my personal taste though. The beer was OK, but limited to Fullers. reggieswain - 4 Feb 2011 17:20 |
| This pub is still very good. Food was OK, my dish was not quite what I hoped but it was still nice. The pint of beer I had was borderline off but drinkable. The pub its self is still lovely in a nice location. The staff are very friendly and service is quick and efficient. Prices are average. NeilA - 21 Sep 2010 21:38 |
| Beer good, food excellent and staff friendly. I had a special from the extensive board which was stilton and brocolli quiche. It was sooooo nice. I would fully recommend the food. NeilA - 27 Sep 2009 20:29 |
