| Yes the Star is back and as reported by others had a bit of a makeover. However, I went in there the other evening and Fullers London Pride was now costing £3.20/pint. An inflation busting increase. Even rather over priced for Petworth, maybe they are trying to deter drinkers and attract diners, don't know. | How fantastic our pub is back bigger and better! Lots of beers and wines to suit anybody's tastes and scrumptious new menus for lunch and dinner, lots of dishes have already been tried personally! Clean, comfortable and will friendly helpful staff a great place to stop for a pint, spend the evening and have a meal or treat the family to Sunday lunch. Don't take my word for it try it yourself! | Being a fussy person, I stopped going to The Star last year. However, after closing for a few weeks, a make over, new landlord new chef, & new staff, I tried again and now eat and drink there regularly. Menu is varied and interesting with something for everyone. If you want something special, they'll do it if they can. No TV, juke box or fruit machines make it everything a pub should be. | Oh Dear! Sorry to say we were pretty disappointed after searching Petworth for a pub to find only a Fullers pub (What about Harveys)? Not really disputing the Fullers beer as we are from Surrey/South London border, which is where I'd expect to find one. After a half hour wait for a jacket spud and service with a mardy grumble instead of a smile, I think I'd probably sit in the park with a bottle or two and a sarnie instead, if we were in Petwoth again.
