Enjoyed the pub. Greeted by two young bar staff who couldn't have been friendlier and made to feel very welcome. Out of choice I wouldn't normally drink Hall and Woodhouse (Badger etc) beer however the Sussex Bitter (nothing like the King and Barnes brew that I was weaned upon) was being sold at £1 a pint!! Couldn't refuse a second one. The food was very good and filling. Worth a try if you are in the town. inkywebber - 26 Oct 2007 19:43
Thoroughly inoffensive but rather dull Hall and Woodhouse pub serving throughly inoffensive but dull Badger beer. Possibly the best pub in Gillingham town centre - which isn't saying much - but not really worth bothering with unless you really fancy a quick pint. Having said that it is a convivial sort of a place as previous reviwers have correctly asserted and does feel like it has some connection with Gillingham. A locals pub? Maybe, but more of a local pub. CJG - 19 Feb 2007 17:58

Really friendly place, good tasty food, excellent Sunday roast, no foul language allowed, safe to take children, elderly accomodated, open fire. Good quality beer. have been coming to the pub for 12 years on a regular basis so I can say hand on heart this is a lovely traditional pub where a female can come in on there own and feel safe. anonymous - 9 Jan 2007 20:40
