The food is exactly the same as the Star Inn and subsequently not that exciting and thus this isn't a very exciting pub at all but alas one must marvel at the location being near the river and subsequently being a lovely place for a meal and a drink and alas being the perfect location to either have a meal or have a drink or indeed take ones friend or indeed ones partner to have a meal or indeed a drink and this lovely pub which is basically identical to the Star Inn.
This is because they both belong to Sheperd Neame which is a brewery which does indeed produce real ale and subsequently the beers tend to be the same or almost identical although not precisely as they are both very different pubs in different locations. On which note I will give this a 6/10 and the Star a 7/10.

Very disappointed that this was so full last Sunday lunchtime that there was nowhere to sit and eat lunch - so I abandoned this pub and went elsewhere (the George Abbot). On a warmer day, sitting outside would have been an option.

The Britannia was fairly busy this Friday lunchtime and we decided to eat here. The beer is Shepherd Neame and I, having to avoid all of the foul golden summer ales on offer, went for the Bishop's Finger, which was fine. A good range of beer was available.
As for food I plumped for the Classic Burger. What there was of it was very good - there just wasn't very much actual food on the plate.
Staff were fine and the place itself was more than acceptable. I'd be happy to drink here again - not sure about the eating.

Could do with smartening up, however the pint of Spitfire was very good.
