This pub puts Fullers pubs to shame; not that I have a problem with Fullers beers but I do with their prices. How come Gill can knock out a large Pinot Grigio for £2.50, when the thieving Fullers bastards can charge anything up to £6. It is easy to take excellence for granted but there are not many pubs around that are better than this one. weston - 11 Mar 2008 16:47
I live on a park bench and find the last comment most insulting. If it wasnt for the few pennies I make playing my banjo at Ruislip manor station I wudnt be able to afford my pint of Grand Union at Moons or my copy of Hedge Funds Review to track market volatility on Hotspot FXi. hardnoxandurtysox - 24 Aug 2007 20:23
Got fed up with popping in after work because of the unavoidibly loud conversations. Generally of the red necked banjo playing bigoted fuck wit nature. No complaints about the staff. (only) slightly better than your average weatherspoon park bench wino clientèle. imaginarynumber - 7 Jul 2007 16:18
This place is always busy, it is very much a locals pub. Service is swift and the Sunday roasts are pretty good. I come here once a month for the excellent selection of guest ales, you can guarantee that there will be a decent ale on every time you visit. Houlton - 6 Jul 2007 22:26
Great atmosphere. Something about this pub makes you want to come back again and again. Everyone in the pub is local but there is not the clique of people you may find in some pubs. On the weekends you get a lot of young people who all went to the same schools etc and have come back from university so the atmosphere is friendly, you tend to always see someone you know. I think it has been this way for a while because you also get big groups of older generations meeting up before dining or going elsewhere, so it has a reputation of a meeting place. It is a right of passage for the modern day if you live in this area. Very very rarely any trouble in this pub. The landlord has been there since it turned into a Wetherspoons and has built up a good rapour with the customers. I would definately recommend this pub as one of the best Wetherspoons in the country and i have visited quite a few. manorboy1985 - 18 Jun 2007 16:18
