The landlord Robin Addy has taken over the members club in Warwick Row. I'm not sure who the new incumbent is but the beer is still good and apparently the kitchen is due to be refurbished.

This is the pub that caused us to miss the train! We did indeed enjoy the tiny snug in front and the range of ale was very good.

Hiya,
Spookyhead I am sorry to hear about your naff pint of Landlord, I assure you that we do everything we can to keep our ales up to scratch. Camra drink here and we can't afford an off day. If anyone has a problem with their pint, simply bring it back to to bar and tell us about it! The prices however are not set by us. (ie the management). I will bring this up with the lease holder on Friday when we have our weekly meeting.
if we're not as good as we used to be, tell me how we can improve. Tell me what you'd like to see, drink, eat, etc and I'll do my best to acomodate you

Great pub surviving in an area that is undergoing regeneration. Not easy to find but worth the effort once you arrive. Deuchars superb. Worth missing a few trains back to London for. Will definitely return.

Saved this one til last and we really enjoyed the tiny snug in the front. Lovely old pub with a good range of real ale. Suggest you don`t miss the 9.30 back to London!

Not the easiest to find, had to ask directions in the Tudor Rose. My favourite of the pubs we visited, we sat in the modern extension at the rear and it was very pleasant. The ever reliable Doom Bar was good.

Interesting historical pub in a road where there were some dodgy looking ones. Good selection of real ales and the ones I had were in good condition. Guy behind the bar friendly and obliging. Would visit again next time in the city.

Pub built into very old houses. 6 real ales on, the Worcester Sorcerer was excellent.

Some of the previous reviews about poor beer quality caused me some concerns but I'm pleased to report that last night both the Everards Sunchaser and Holts Mild were fine.
There was a singer performing last night which produced a pleasant atmosphere and although the pub is close to the university there were plenty of customers who clearly weren't students.
I think this ancient pub might well be the oldest building in which I have drunk a pint or two.

I confirm that the pub is closed, and indeed has at least one window boarded up. Sad, as I can remember this being one of the best pubs in Coventry some years ago.

It has been shut down for several months - apparently due to debts owed to bank !

Paid timely visit on 18th Feb 2009. Pub completely empty at 1900 but second customer arrived at 1910. Upset to see the lease for sale, nevertheless still virtually untouched since previous visit. I had one pint of Cottage Brewery Vulcan, 3.8% - a pleasant and refreshing ale. Real logfire in use in the front room providing welcome warmth. In the latter stages of my visit it was nice to see one or two locals still popping in for a beer.

Nice boozer with a strong Irish theme. Four real ale's on when I visited and the Webb Ellis bitter was on good form and at £2.20 a pint was the cheapest ale in the area. Ham cobs where a quid...which was nice.

has started selling real ales which are cheap ( for this area) at £2.20 but trouble is the quality is not very good.

ive been running this pub for a year and a half now, and i love it! Coventrys premier student venue, excellent value for money on food and drink, and its the BEST place in coventry to watch the sport - 2 massive screens, 10 tvs and 2 plasmas (including one in the garden for th big games). check out our Facebook group at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=26070831592&ref=share for more info!

Called in while staying at nearby hotel: found it clean, with friendly staff but no real beer [real cider though, as befits its role as a student pub]. Got REALLY busy when the football was on, but at the final whistle it was is if they were all being sucked out through the doors. Food excellent and good value, and despite the huge numbers of students they were mostly polite and well mannered and didn't make our group of four fogeys [we must have increased the average age by ten years] feel out of place. A good find in a city that doesn't have much to offer in the way of decent pubs.

Outside of the main city centre this is definitely a student focussed pub. Despite that, It serves great food dduring the day, and there are older clientelle who visit as well (if its not a student only night - not advertised if this ever happens - so don't set off on a large trek...). If you want life, youth, and customers who have a futrure ahead of them, give this place a try.
