Have visited several times recently and the beer quality is very good and well kept.

Guest beer..Liberation Ale from the Channel Islands (Jersey).

Brewery Speak.........
Liberation Ale (4% ABV) The award-winning ale is a golden beer brewed with the finest Maris Otter and lager malt. Golding hops are used for bitterness, while Syrian Goldings and Hallertau Hersbrucker hops provide aroma.

Liberation Ale is a well-balanced and morish beer with a hint of citrus on the nose. It is the perfect accompaniment to seafood, pasta and salads and none more so than when local produce is used. It also goes extremely well with some of the Genuine Jersey mature and crumbly cheeses.

Food is very good value and quality.

A definite place to visit when passing through the area.

Still #1 village pub.

Called in to see how it is going.
Pub a little quiet, but beer was coming out well.
Barman was showing an interest in the beer and quiet friendly.
Selection good.....to many to list, but prices have been increased.
Vale best was £2.75......very good.
New micro brewery and shop out the back........a very nice addition.
Interesting selection of bottled beers.
Maybe time to put back on the radar......

As detailed below the pub is under new management or to be more accurate under old management as the Landlord before Edgar has returned. Beer is now back to a very high standard. Because of the hiatus with the management the pub failed to get into the Good Beer Guide, this is of course rather unfortunate as the pub is better than before with the addition of a superb beer shop stocking wines and beers from around the world with a good emphasis on Belgium. To top it off, the 'Aylesbury Brewhouse', a new brewery is located on site and was opened yesterday (2/12/2011) by Roger Protz the editor of the afore-mentioned Good Beer Guide.

There have been improvements but still got a lot of ground to make up to it's diminishing locals. Majority of beers ok but the buzz that used to exist here is still missing (in my opinion)

Lots of one time only postings here.
But as we were nearby on a walk we thought we would have a look in. Seem to have spent some money on the refurb and it looks good but im not sure its a drinking venue. We got pounced on almost before we got in the door and asked if we would be dining. I dont normally dine in wellies and this was no exception. The staff appeared a bit uncomfortably about us staying at the bar for some reason and kept suggesting we sat down. I Like Drinking At The Bar so we did. Unfortunately I got stung for the round 2 doom bar & a peroni in a vase Im pretty sure it was £12.50 ouch! west end prices in a rural pub. The others didnt fancy paying for another round so we continued on.

I can see that I shall have to make it my business to go along and try the new 'Pink'.

Looks at diary.....

Slight whiff of desperation here methinks. It may well be a nice gaff with lower dining area but please let us have some reviews from people who have posted more than once on BITE. Sorry. Just a small gripe of mine.

I visit this pub frequently. The food is delicious, the beer is well-kept and the atmosphere is lovely. I would recommend it for a relaxed weekend lunch or good evening out.

Bitterboy, put up or shut up. I'm nothing to do with the management. I await your apology.

I came to this pub in august because the m25 was solid and I needed a detour. I've come back because I liked the food and drink. I've just had a decent plate of venison, some good duff and an excellent pint of cider.

I maintain my previous opinion. Good traditional cider certainly commands a premium - especially given how many orchards in the UK have been grubbed up to play the farm subsidy game.

Super pub, cracking food, lovely atmosphere, friendly and patient staff. A one-off lunch has turned us into regular visitors. One of the best pubs in the area and I would recommend it highly. During the week, the "all day" breakfasts are to die-for!

Pub with large screen to watch football on - but you can avoid it & the games machine by walking further along the bar. There were 3 ales: Lee's Coronation Street, Courage Best & GK IPA - thought the former beer was rather cold. Not been here for several years & it is still a pleasant local - needs more drinkers.

Great news that the pub stays a pub (at least for the present I guess)
Whilst not on my personal list of preferred village drinking establishments, its demise would be a sad loss to the community.
5 Feb 2011 12:33
The latest planning applications by the owner to demolish the pub and build houses have been refused by AVDC.
It may stay a pub yet!

We like to keep Valentines quite low key, so we decided to try the Vanlentines Special at the Wendover, as it is just down the road from us. We were pleasantly surprised! They had done the restaurant end of the pub out with roses and candles and it looked very nice. There was only one option for each course on the Special menu, so we decided to go for the whole 3 courses. WOW, what a blow out and what great food! The steak diane and potato bake were out of this world, and the pudding was not only delicious but also beautifuly presented. We will definitely be back next time they put on an evening like this!

Not the most welcoming pub, but great food! Thai and English food on offer, I had the Thai Green Curry and my girlfriend had the lasagne, good sized portions, very tasty and change from 20 quid! I'll be back. :-)

A bit of a blokey pub, but fairly friendly barstaff and locals. Not the smartest decor, but what do you expect in Wycombe. Best thing about the place was the food - they do lovely Thai at a reasonable price. Definitely worth popping in for that!
