Pub a little quiet, but beer was coming out well.
Barman was showing an interest in the beer and quiet friendly.
Selection good.....to many to list, but prices have been increased.
Vale best was £2.75......very good.
New micro brewery and shop out the back........a very nice addition.
Interesting selection of bottled beers.
Maybe time to put back on the radar......

But as we were nearby on a walk we thought we would have a look in. Seem to have spent some money on the refurb and it looks good but im not sure its a drinking venue. We got pounced on almost before we got in the door and asked if we would be dining. I dont normally dine in wellies and this was no exception. The staff appeared a bit uncomfortably about us staying at the bar for some reason and kept suggesting we sat down. I Like Drinking At The Bar so we did. Unfortunately I got stung for the round 2 doom bar & a peroni in a vase Im pretty sure it was £12.50 ouch! west end prices in a rural pub. The others didnt fancy paying for another round so we continued on.
Looks at diary.....

I came to this pub in august because the m25 was solid and I needed a detour. I've come back because I liked the food and drink. I've just had a decent plate of venison, some good duff and an excellent pint of cider.
I maintain my previous opinion. Good traditional cider certainly commands a premium - especially given how many orchards in the UK have been grubbed up to play the farm subsidy game.

Whilst not on my personal list of preferred village drinking establishments, its demise would be a sad loss to the community.
It may stay a pub yet!

Congratulations Joolz and team.
Guest beer..Liberation Ale from the Channel Islands (Jersey).
Brewery Speak.........
Liberation Ale (4% ABV) The award-winning ale is a golden beer brewed with the finest Maris Otter and lager malt. Golding hops are used for bitterness, while Syrian Goldings and Hallertau Hersbrucker hops provide aroma.
Liberation Ale is a well-balanced and morish beer with a hint of citrus on the nose. It is the perfect accompaniment to seafood, pasta and salads and none more so than when local produce is used. It also goes extremely well with some of the Genuine Jersey mature and crumbly cheeses.
Food is very good value and quality.
A definite place to visit when passing through the area.
London Pride, Seafarers and Bengal Lancer....still all top notch.
Still #1 village pub.
