Well well. ANOTHER change of management here. New manageress seems to be really making a go of this. She's like a whirlwind. Takes no-nonsense from her staff it seems and appears to run a tight ship, although still quite welcoming. Never seen so many blackboards in my life. Wasn't sure if I was back at school or in the middle of a break-out session on some management training scheme. Appears there're three cask ales on the way. Very welcome indeed although I wonder how long they'll last with the lager swilling football louts who keep the place solvent. Time will tell but I'm guessing the drains will drinking a lot of it! Free pool all Monday night; 2 football games at once on big screens, it is all happening. Great idea to keep the chavs happy and should keep the lager flowing. Still, business is business and if it gets the place moving a little then it can only be welcome. We will watch developments with interest! Mr_FRISKY - 14 Nov 2008 16:01
I think it's all been said - completely appalling. DeepThought - 18 Jul 2008 15:27
Absolute perfect pub if you like pool tables sporting loud, swearing players, intrusive TV screens, being called "Mate" by the staff and a choice of several Lagers. Almost all the male customers were kitted out in football shirts, earings, tatoo's and shaved heads.Keen prices, short measures, and a mobile library in the car park. Myskolive - 1 Jun 2008 14:42
Too angry to type. Meant to say top of head was level with the line - i.e. well short of where it should have been. Grrrr. Mr_FRISKY - 8 Mar 2008 17:46
Spitting feather here. Went for a pint and was pleasantly surprised to see an oversized pint glass being brought forth. However, they only filled it till the top of the generous head was level with the pint glass and absolutely refused to fill it higher. So what's the point of an oversize glass? Ignorant w*nkers and rip off merchants. Either do the job properly or stick to the usual swindle glasses and then it is my decision if I want a head and be ripped off for the shortfall. Incidentally, here's a link to a trading standards website (http://www.telford.gov.uk/Advice+benefits/Trading+standards/Pints+of+Beer.htm) and CAMRA's attempt to get legislation tightened up on this farce (http://www.camra.org.uk/page.aspx?o=270060). Like I said, most annoyed and spoilt the only night out I've had this year. Aaarrrrgggghhhh! Mr_FRISKY - 8 Mar 2008 17:45
