Hadn't been here for a while so decided to give it a try.... And I can say that I won't be bothering for a while again.

Very expensive..... Even for ealing prices.... Paid £4.55 for a pint of Heineken which was ok at best. My friend was on the ale and said the the King John was ok but nothing to shout about and the pride was "rank".

To be honest I would avoid as there are a lot better (and cheaper) pubs in less than staggering distance (Castle and the rose and crown).

First time at this pub with friends who recommended it to us. Sunday roast was good and plenty of it. Tried two ale's both very nice but very pricey. personal hygiene behind the food counter left a bit to be desired and the loo's could do with some work. cant say ill be in a hurry to go back there.

Went along Friday last week, the pub was packed.
Served straight away.
The HSB was perfect,
and my Steak was 10/10
Will be returning

Came here for my brother's birthday on a sunday a few weeks back. I have to say that it was the best carvery i have ever had and the bitter was very well kept. I can see waht people are saying about th TV's, but other than that my experience was that the food was fantastic (and a lot of it) and the staff very friendly in spite of being massively busy. Pleasantly impressed, at least for a lunchtime. Maybe not an evening pub

just returned back to the new inn since the last time i went, went with the family on mothers day for a traditional roast. Fantastic carvary even though place was packed, they were keeping it under great control, with very friendly staff. keep up the good work.
hope to return soon.

This should be a decent pub and used to be. Suffers from 2 big screens on either side of the bar in the narrowest part of the pub while the remainder of the boozer is left for food. Thus making it a nightmare to get served when a big game's on.

It's also a shame that the bar staff seem to be incapable of taking your order correctly leading them to pour you something extremely expensive in an already overpriced Fullers pub.

There's better places nearby for almost everything that The New Inn offers with not much thought or effort from the bar staff and what appears to be a not very customer focussed landlord.

Loved the Sunday roast in there until two weeks ago and it was ruined for no reason I can think of other than greed. The food is great and up until my last visit it had been quick enough to get served but everything seems to have gone to pot. More tables had been jammed into the main dining room than necessary, forcing the manager to close the french doors at the back of the room. Combine this with the heated carvery and the room was became quite an efficient blast furnace. FAR too many people were allowed into the pub once the seating capacity had been met meaning that there were people waiting to eat, with no seats, were just milling around and jostling in every available bit of floorspace. The almost unbelievable number of parents were happy to let the throngs of children they had brought with them run rampant around the dining area. It is obvious that children don't like civilized or relaxed dining and rapidly become bored. I wish people would refrain from bring them to restaurants/carveries. The wait in the queue to get served the roast was a joke. After standing there for twenty minutes (I am in no way exagerating) in the sweltering heat I wanted to grad the listless staff serving the food at a snails pace a shake to wake them up!

Six days a week the place is actually a pub. While the selection of beer isn't the best in the world the larger is generally of a good standard. Steer clear of the peanuts out of the airtight jars behind the bar though, it's like someone emptied a bottle of vegetable oil over them so they'll make you feel terrible.

The staff do not strike me as terribly competent so I am reluctant to visit the pub when it's particularly busy.

The pub fancies itself as a bit of a football pub with a projection screen and a plasma in the main bar but, unfortunately, the layout of the pub is completely unfit for purpose. Unless you're lucky enough to get a seat (which is so rare I suspect the people who are sitting have been planted, before opening, to make you think the place is livelier than it is) you have to stand next to the bar to be able to see the projection screen as the placement of the plasma mean about 6 people can see it at any one time. The necessity to place yourself next the bar effectively creates a cordon around the bar meaning getting served if you're located anywhere else in the pub is a real pain.

The pub is much better when it's quiet. 6.5/10

I recently popped in here for the first time in over ten years and I could hardly recognise the place. I have memories of a rough and ready no nonsense drinking den, but it has now fallen to the gastro sword. It is a big pub, but the rear feels more like a dining room although it does lead to a nice beer garden.

Pride, Landlord, Hoegarden, Stella, Heineken, Kronenberg, Staropramen, Amstel, Fosters and Strongbow were all available. I was served an OK pint of Pride by a friendly enough barmaid.

I was disappointed with my visit and I wish that I hadnt bothered as my previous memories of the New Inn have been tainted.

I defy anyone to say they can find a better Sunday carvery than here! Huge plateful of anamazing choice AND they willingly topped up our plates with chosen veggies! Delicious! Not any more expensive than elsewhere-though did find the kids running around on Sunday afternoons irritating-apart from this it is highly recommended!

IsleIona - 5 May 2008 11:11
Not bad. Staff are friendly enough, as long as you don't happen to go in when the polish girls are working. A more miserable face you never will see, not even a simple 'hello' or 'goodbye'.Rude.
SF1986 - 21 Apr 2008 01:43
Sunday roast is blooming excellent!
jinglebell - 15 Feb 2008 13:40
Enjoy a pint here before jumping on the 65 to go and see the super Bees (you're spot-on, anon, 12.9.07). Like Man Utd, some can only buy the shirt and call themselves fans when they rarely venture inside the ground. Decent boozer. Enough said.
BeerHeaven06 - 24 Jan 2008 18:25
Great pub and great food especially the carvery on Sundays, I would give this pub ten if the drinks weren't so expensive, i.e. charging as much for a blackcurrant and soda as you would for a pint of beer, would have had a beer if I knew they would do that.

btw there's no pool table, it's wrongly listed in the facilities above
Normal_seasoned_drinker - 2 Oct 2007 14:06
Decent pub.BUT Too many Replica shirt Chelsea tossers, instead of sitting in a pub miles away from Stamford Bridge to try and get your footballing bandwagon jumping kicks - why not pop down the road and watch the team that lives on your door step, namely Brentford, who knows - you might even enjoy a real life football match.
anonymous - 12 Sep 2007 04:49
Large open plan pub that is very noisy for a quiet pint. The kind of pub that is probably best when full. The pint of Pride I had was mediocre - although increasingly i wonder if that is what Fullers are quite happy with, West London is full of mediocre Pride often served near freezing with a ton of condition to cover this up.

Anyway had half a pint and left Friday at 5pm ish not going back.
bedfont - 13 May 2007 16:37
Nice staff and great when footballs on. the beers good. plesure.

An amazing pub, the staff bend over backwards for you. The New Inn has a family feel, lots of regulars which makes it more welcoming. I cannot praise the staff high enough. We had a joint birthday party in there and the staff were terrific. The food is fantastic, always something on the menu to make your mouth water. 10/10 for atmosphere especially on a Friday, we go there practically every Friday and it never lets us down. A pub WORTH going to.
Petch12 - 22 Mar 2007 08:48
My girlfriend and I go here v/regularly she (and she is extremely fussy / choosey / demanding / knows what she likes / etc ) will not GO anywhere else for food! I agree to a certain extent, however, I like different things - bet you if i asked them, and they were not busy they would do it i.e. a omelette. So top of the pops staff, management service first class!!
MOREDRINK - 11 Mar 2007 21:39
Large Victorian pub with an impressive frontage. All one big U-shaped drinking area now, although there are a few cosy corners to sit in. Lighting is likeably subdued. Most of the chairs and tables are now of the annoying modern variety, i.e. straight-backed chairs and big tables designed to get you eating rather than drinking. The array of two-foot-high lager dispensers on the bar is ridiculous: when are pubs going to wise up and get rid of these vulgar advertising monstrosities?
Two real ales available, Old Speckled Hen and London Pride, and both were in very mediocre condition. Ive now given the new Old Speckled Hen (strength reduced to 4.5%) a few chances in more than one pub, and been disappointed each time. A classic beer destroyed by Greene King.

The New Inn is a fantastic pub, with a great atmosphere, the staff are fabulous, and the carvery is high standerd. has the inskt got the right New Inn?
i have no complaints.
Emma1234 - 9 Dec 2006 18:34
Charmless formulaic gastro pub, with overpriced, poor food. Snotty staff and elitist ambience. Rubbish.
insekt - 28 Nov 2006 01:35
my other half insists on driving half way round London to eat the Sunday Roasts here. Unbeaten so far.
LimeJuice - 1 Sep 2006 17:52
The new inn has been in a stae of identity crisis since the refit three years ago.
Admittedly, it was run into the ground before, but now it doesn't seem to know if it wants to be a wine bar, a restaurant or a trendy cafe. It's like a mix and match pub, you never know what you're gonna get.
The roasts are pretty good at the weekend, and the terrace out the back is impressive. It's a monster pub, and i know it sounds old fashioned, but surely this was better when it had a jukebox and a pool table?
kidsmoke - 22 Mar 2006 19:52
Awesome family orientated pub with the best sunday lunches around, smoke free areas and outdoor seating with cover.
bernard2504 - 22 Sep 2005 11:32
I went to The New Inn in Ealing a few weeks ago, when the weather was really nice, it was so nice just sitting outside on a summer's evening with a few of my mates, and just chatting. The atomsohere is so calm and you do feel totally relaxed x
alki - 25 Jul 2005 12:37
Great Sunday lunches. Kid friendly come rain or shine. Not heavnig
alphabravo - 18 Jun 2005 14:30
Stumbled upon the newly refurbished pub one Saturday. Had a delicious lunch and some very nice wine. No smoking area too. Not too expensive.
Lorraine - 17 Nov 2004 10:58
large airy conservatory at the back that is completely non-smoking. i liked the food too, so thumbs up!
lynshroom - 12 Nov 2004 17:19
Tried the New Inn Sunday and had a fantastice sunday lunch, staff were very happy and the pub had a great atmosphere.
Tracy - 9 Aug 2004 20:03
Listen Up! If you thought that the new inn was o.k. as it was, then you must have enjoyed: Crap Beer, and being surrounded by Fake "ye Olde Pubbe" Dust Gathering shite. Granted, I miss the juke box, and the cobbled courtyard had its moments, But the garden was a disgrace. Now it is much better for a summer music crowd, 25-45 age group (that's stayed the same) and a brighter enviroment.
Beers a bit pricey, but its good. So I say it needed a change and it could have been a lot worse, Give it a chance to be as good as it used to be (especially in the summer months!
glen - 20 Apr 2004 09:22
Why o why? Another pub lost to mediocrity...... trying to attract the poncy crowd who will hang around for a couple of months inflate the profits and then move on to the next big thing......... shame on the owners
Graham - [email protected] - 24 Feb 2004 17:02
Fabulous little local, that has now been lost to the realms of Gastronomy - its a true shame that such a loved pub has jumped aboard this ever growing trend
Jules - 30 Jan 2004 17:21
Not sure what some people want from a local pub. If you want good friendly (and good looking)staff, superb atmosphere, great value then go to the New Inn
Sam - 19 Sep 2003 09:41
This place stitched me up for 20 quid, which in my semi-inebriated state I forgot to get off the barman when I asked for cashback (and signed it off on the receipt). Realised my mistake about two minutes later, but the barman denied all knowledge. Never been in since.
