"They have 6 hand pulls and 1 was blank"

This place is just round the corner and therefore handy for Victoria Bus Station.
In here last Saturday early afternoon and just 3 others present. Bit soul less.
Medium volume piped music is playing. No TV.
They have 6 hand pulls 7 for ale and 1 for cider. is blank.
1 Theakston Old Perculier and Best Bitter 1 Caladoninan Golden XPA.
Duchers IPA.
I had a very nice pint of Butcombe Bitter for £3.20.

This is an eclectic pub with a nice mix atmosphere and good music. But it really could do with a bit of hands-on management, a good clean and tidy up. As previously observed, the decor is a mixture of traditional pub and what can only be described as "camp" fixtures and fittings. But if the "front of house" cleaning and general house-keeping is not up to scratch, then customers will also question what is happening behind the scenes ie in terms of drink and food preparation. If that was all "spot on", I'd give the place a 9 out of 10!

Good Traditional 2 roomed Pub with good choice of Ale. Table service in Lounge.

Managed a couple of pints in here last Saturday before last orders. My first visit. Pleasant "proper" pub, with strangely camp decor and some ales in good nick. An enjoyable experience all told.

We visited this friendly pub on a Friday evening. It was buzzing but not noisy.
We were a party of six seasoned tasters and one teenager.

London Pride , two Theakstons and others, which we variously sampled were all well kept. Its the first time I'd been in here for about twenty years but we'll be back. By the way the staff I dealt with were fine, so I don't know if the grumpy landlord is still there.

Definitely a good starting place for a night out and it wouldn't be a problem to meet friends and stop there all night.

I really like this pub. It's nice and traditional with two rooms, and is very comfortable.

They've even got board games like "Operation" if you fancy a game.

Great pub. Just a pity about the miserable landlord.

A great pub for a quiet drink. It has retained two separate rooms, is well decorated (look at the etched windows for example) and has several well kept beers.

A great pub for a quiet evenings with friends, if only it was run by someone else. The bar manager is the most arrogant spoilt publican I have ever known.

This is a gem of a pub in an area of Nottingham where most of the pubs are pretty scummy!

Bar Staff are friendly and efficient. The food menu looks interesting, but I have never been in there whilst they are serving, so I can't comment on the quality of the food.

Music is provided via a random selection of tracks from a 300 CD library and it's a damn fine selection.

Cosy & traditional.

Nice pub - shame about the stroppy owner! Real attitude problem. Don't laugh or talk too loud - he'll bar you!! Get rid of the owner and it would be great...until then, AVOID!!

Like stepping back in time, nice quiet boozer with table service.
Ideal for a quiet pint reading the paper in front of the fire - lovely stuff

I have reluctantly reduced my score for this place owing to the petulant stroppy barman. When I asked, politely, for a top up he slammed down the glass in such a childish manner that it spilt more beer out of the glass than before!

Worth a visit over the festive period - the decorations are great - very tasteful.

I really like this pub in the winter - it is so cosy and warm. The beer is still excellent and the atmosphere great.

Beer's gone up by another 5p while the quality seems to have gone down 5%. It's a shame. I won't be going in as often. You can get much cheaper and better beer in other pubs nearby.

I absolutely adore this pub. I like the relaxed atmosphere and the fact that you can chill out and read the paper over a nice pint.

The staff are nice and always say hello which i quite like!

The new bar upstairs is simply gorgeous and I'd certainly recommend an evening there.

I didn't like this pub at first but it has grown on me in a big way. A two roomed traditional corner house (a third room is open upstairs at weekends) attracting a mix of people. It's quite close to the University but you don't get loads of students in, though plenty of lecturers and other assorted people who have obviously been going in for years. It sits half in half out of the city centre and has good passing trade.

The bar area has tasteful, inobtrusive music in the evenings. The cosy back room has table service (5p extra) by way of the old fashioned bell in the wall. Weird things on the walls too. Staff are very friendly but do tend to have a habit of turning the lights down when you're reading the paper.

It's a good popular pub. One of my favourites. Getting expensive though. The beer seems to go up 5p every two or three weeks. (I'm sure it's competitive with other city centre pubs.)
