This bar has recently re-opened as The Cape (a so-called South African themed bar). It does sell some Real Ale but when visited had no South African beer !!
It was previously known as Varsity and will no doubt change names and themes again as trends change.

Its now become Varsity which is far more better. Bouncers arent too bad either. Asked them what had changed (as i was a little unsure if i would live if i went in) and they simply said ' we just dont let any of the c**ts in!!

Never been here in the evening, though I can't say I'm too keen.
Managed to get the barman to put some rugby on the big screen when every other pub was showing cricket and the South African food was pretty good. Still, there were louts swilling Stella to an amazing degree and it was 11am on a Sunday!

Simple as that, don't go there, unless you're an under aged chav then go enjoy your pikey little self.

One of the more aggressive venues in Reading due to the sheer volume of Stella swilling Chavs which frequent here.Not a complete shithole by any stretch , but too dark and always looking over your shoulder incase some moron wants to start a fight. Good deals on beer though and dance tunes which pump out are most spendid. Best thing about it is the name.

Just Bollocks i think.Full of under age girls and rude boys.The floor is always covered in bottles aswell.
