havent seen the toilets before but they are quite nice and tidy...look very new...came here for a football match and it was packed...they were showing two different games so im not suprised...i came earlier with a few mates and we managed to find a table to get some food...my god was that filling! its quite odd that you cant order at the bar but well worth it in the end!

Toilets have been done up!!!1!!!eleven!!
They still need a bit of a paint job.

dreadful place. we waited for our thai food for over an hour. when it arrived it was alright but more expensive and not nearly as nice as the thai food from the coach and horses round the corner. the toilets are a disgrace. the music was some loud clanky hillbilly rubbish. if you want amazing great value thai food in a friendly pub go to the coach & horses on stokey high street instead.

Good thai food and decent garden, although they seem to shoe-horn more tables in every year. I don't normally bother in the winter.
|
craphole of a pub old stokey geezers stay upstairs with cheap elasticated jeans and cheap reebok classics while the wannabe goth/punk/weirdos go downstairs they make marilyn manson look like a pussycat then around 10pm the 80s rejects come in awful place
|
Great little place. Can be quite crowded at weekends, especially in winter when the garden is closed and when the downstairs part is closed for the occasional private function. Friendly atmosphere and drinks not too overpriced.

More of that thai food like the coach and horses - how original!
Very cheap and friendly - suits the locals down to the ground.

Second only to Auld Shillelagh, and is better in terms of fantastic beer garden. Shillelagh gets my vote for traditional Irishness, Ryans gets it for making effort on music scene. They are also really friendly for families. My mate arranged a reasonably priced party for his two year old in the downstairs (they are licensced for it) after facing overpriced 'proper' kids places in Stokie. Music generally good and clientele are v friendly too.

Ryans Bar has a great feel to it.Toilets aren't that bad. The Thai food is great value for money. I was there one Saturday about a month ago and thought DJ JP was excellent. I want him to play at a big party I'm organising, but have losted his details. Can anyone help?

great Thai Food, raucous live crowd down the creaky stairs...was terrified when I first saw the venue then we played and it was one of the crackingest sets...really liked this place

lovely, draws a slightly 'alternative' crowd especially the punks and rockabillies compared the rest of church street. toilets aren't skanky, they are full of hilarious anecdotes written on the doors. beer garden in the summer is gorgeous and the thai food from next door is worth a go although the chinese chippy down the road is cheaper.

This is a great pub with a lively atmosphere and friendly staff. The Thai food is excellent and they have a comprehensive wine list. They have DJs every weekend night. Every Monday there is an popular open mic night and they have live music playing regularly in the downstairs function room. Great place to go in the summer as well as they have a huge beer garden. One of the best pubs in Stokey

I think Ryans is great, just what you want in your neighbourhood, good value tasty Thai food when you want it, Great garden and general chilled atmosphere even on match day, the game will be on but without any heavy moods. recommended

Pretty decent bar, good vibe, nice bar staff, good range of drinks. Is nice and airy with plenty of seating, good crowd, very 'Stokey'. Has a basement you can rent out for parties and gigs, but it's useless for gigs as no one can see anything whatsoever.
My only negative about this place is that it has the most disgusting, skankiest toilets I've ever seen. Absolutely foul.

i mean beer garden. Oops.
|
Great beer, great food, great food garden, Tattoo John but awful PA - watching live music there is excruciating, playing it even more so.
|
Good Thai food, good beergarden, friendly staff, Tattoo John from the Alabama 3 is DJing every Sunday. Good place really.
|
Great pub, big beer garden, friendly staff and regulars at the bar. Open late, nice food and 2 sofas that are in need of re-covering! Owned by the same people as The Eye. Can hire down stairs for private parties. Regular live music too.

Very nice beer garden and friendly staff but not very classy.

Late licence? - Well they serve till 11.30pm Mon-Thus, till Midnight Fri/Sat, and 11pm Sun, so little later than most, and occasionally later still when bands are on (1 or 2am). Staff and regulars are always friendly, and once you befriend them licencing hours loose meaning! There's often music downstairs (various jam sessions on weeknights and regular band events) and DJs Fri/Sat/Sun, inc. Tattoo John's alternative country set on Sunday. Plus cheapest beers on Church St!

Probably my favourite in Stokey. Great music - happy people and a nice beergarden. Not so useful at the moment but great during the summer.Very enjoyable...it' s a shame that it hasn' t got a late license.

Great place. Friendly staff, great Thai food, and a chilled but happy atmosphere. There is also art on the walls from local artists, which change each month or two. All good. Bands do still play there, (Dodgy played there not too long ago!) though I think they channel them mostly to The Eye now as that's a 'music venue/pub'. You'll find me on one of the two leather sofas!

Big beer garden, and got a seperate downstairs band where they might still have bands playing occasionally. Bright yellow, and with some connection to new venue on the High Street, The Eye. Thai Food and televisions.
