I attended a family function here recently. The service was very poor, amateur at best and the food was so awful I can only say think twice before you go there.

Popped in for a drink when it was miserable outside. Garden would be great on a pleasant day, as it leads down to the river. Beer pretty poor, and the place doesn't really cater for drinkers, although we were made fairly welcome. For some reason, not only was music blaring out, but also the TV was on full blast. Toilets also in an unpleasant state. Only worth a visit on a sunny day to sit by the river.

Biker just a quicky so to speak Argentinan beef is now banned in this country as they can not show the paper work back to the sauce of the meat.Think that says a bit ! PS still would not us this place service p... poor.

If I said the previous review worries me slightly, I'd be seriously understating my personal view : "The steaks are really excellent, apparently imported from Argentina and well up to Argentine standard" Lets not bother with a discussion on 'air miles' and all that - why on earth is steak not being sourced locally or at least from within Britain. ?? I also notice that said reviewer has just recently joined this site. Click on usernames and you will see where others have been and what they've said about other pubs. PS what is "Argentine standard" compared to Aberdeen Angus ?

We have visited the restaurant three times in the last couple of months. The service has been impeccable (Polish staff!). The steaks are really excellent, apparently imported from Argentina and well up to Argentine standard - not quite as big as those in Buenos Aires!

I was really hoping after changing from out & out to a beefeater they might have changed the staff, This is the worst place I have ever been for service, you can find yourself standing at the bar like a lemon for 10 mins while the manager thinks its more important collecting empty glasses, They dont even acknowledge you to say ill be with you shortly they stare right through you. I thought i would give the food a try one night only to be presented with my food frozen in the middle not what you would expect when going out for a meal. This pub/restaurant really struggles when they get more than 2 people at the bar and the staff really need some training. Would not recommend this Beefeater to anyone..... I must add tho Not all Beefeaters are the same I recently went to one in Worcester Park which was excellent.

Good food (not gourmet but good enough) and reasonably priced drinks. Always good service whenever I visit.
You should remember that this is a Beefeater and not a pub.

Well they have spent money on the place, but alas nothing changes still got dirty tables & food all over the floor. This is my last visit to this pub, restaurant, hotel which ever you want to call it,its still poor. Turn the lignts off on your way out.

Will be interesting to see how Mitchells and Butlers redevelop this place. The Inn On The Lake was most impressive, if a wee bit pretentious, but surely anything must be better than the Out & Out nonsense before.

Oh...dear, do I detect another 'fling & bring' food establishment coupled with 'Eurofizz' on tap and unpronouncable names on strange bottles!!! This restaurant/hotel/bar has always had (from 1966 anyway) a lovely garden by the river and poor management. I genuinely wish all success to the new 'keepers of the ale' The Manor has always held a special spot in my cynical nature so I'll make a point of calling in on my next trip. 7/10 (in expectation of real ale, proper lager and ordinary pub grub that's been cooked by a Chef)

Open as a Beefeater now, and yes, it was a Beefeater for many years before it's 'Out & Out' incarnation.
Had a meal in the restaurant and no complaints. Still has a bar and a bar area as well as substantial outside seating including next to the river. Great location for warmer months.

Currently closed for refurb into a Beefeater. Swear it used to one when i was a kid! Hope it improves.

More of a restaurant than a pub. Hideously overpriced, which is enough to put me off. The atmosphere is alright, but I wouldn't make this my number 1 destination.

I can only agree with the negative comments.Food is fling & bing and they cant do that right.Staff dont care a hoot if you have a good meal or bad( sorry did i say good meal this place wouldn`t know a good meal if it bit them on the arse). This can not be classed as a pub.So lets mark it as a restaurant 0 THAT WILL DO AS YOU DONT DO -`S

Yep, I made the mistake of eating here too. It is not a pub and DEFINATELY not a restaurant. Cold garlic bread (not difficult to get it right even when cooked from frozen from Brake Brothers). Cold plates with hot (well tepid) food. Staff did not give a toss. We complained and worried about what they would do with our main course so did not eat it. Will not be back... I have rated this 1/10 for being there...

In days past, this was THE place, alas times change and I have to support some of the bad points written by others. Another example of over educated, under trained, inexperienced incompetents having a go at running what is essentially a hotel and trying to 'bolt on' a pub.

The kind of place that makes staying in seem better. Best avoided unless you want to drink and eat in an "upmarket harvester". Whatever you do, do not stay in the rooms. They are tiny, third world cubicles they are not bedrooms.

Before it was a Out & Out it was a loverly pub, I used to go with my granparents. They loved it and because they did I used to go somtimes, now though i'm not so keen I still get subjected to go when I visit my gran [my Grandad pasted away]. I don't know why she still goes but I think the OAP's get used to what they know! If it was me I would'nt go there, there are far more better pubs to go to! The food is really poor, I remember I wanted something and they said the thing with it they did'nt have [I think it was rice], I was quite disappointed because. I did'nt want to make a fuss because my Gran was with me!! I think the staff are more concerned about money or what they are doing after there shift than customers. Go somewhere else!!

There is something wrong with the Out and Out chain that means that their employees obviously don't care. Our food was cold (can't be good with fish) and when we complained they took it back to the kitchen for a swift extra deep fat frying treatment. We could tell it was the same from the dental records on it. Nice.

This is part of the Out & Out chain and has concentrated on the 'relaxed style' dining experience, whatever that is. The bar has become just that, a bar, rather than a pub. Don't think that they have anything special in the beer department, just the usual suspects. They do serve a very good Guiness Extra Cold though. Good value wine, if that's what you want. Food itself is ok. Trying to be something it's not and sometimes disappointing. The Manor has got a great location - a large beer garden next to the Canal / River Wey. Its great to wander down the towpath of a summers evening with the promise of a cold pint at the end of the walk. But as far as a pub to drink in goes, the Manor doesn't quite do it for me. It was revamped a couple of years ago from a harvester style place to the current 'modern' Out&Out formula. A vast improvement but definitely mid-range.
