| Nice location but lacks something - not a place for atmosphere as it is more of a restaurant than a pub. Pride and Hobgoblin were real ales on. Ok to sit by the river outside but noisy with kids. Alright though. NoDisgrace - 2 Oct 2011 19:37 |
| As I live so near this pub I have visited it on several occasions. Every time I have been I swear never to return. I have always had to wait at the bar for at least 10 minutes (even when its quite and I alone am the que and there are 3 bar staff!!) No apology is ever made for the wait and the staff dont seem to care less (if they manage a break in their conversation to serve it looks like hardship!). I have unfortunatly also eaten here a few times and every time it has been BAD. Ive waited 20 minutes for my food to arrive after the rest of my table have been served, the wait for food is always very long and not worth it. Apauling food, Its overpriced and over microwaved. The customer service here is non existant. If it wasnt for the gorgeous location I dont think anyone would ever visit here. Local friends have also stated how totally shocking this place is and the general feeling is to avoid. Fifisee - 20 Sep 2011 20:58 |
| Soulless Beefeater. Pride (£3.35) and Hobgoblin. GuideDogSaint - 23 Jul 2011 21:22 |
| This is a Beefeater Pub. For the location, on the River Wey, it should be a flagship pub but sadly it isn't. Service is abysmal, food inedible and the general ambiance poor. It gets busy because of its location, no other reason. Beefeater probably turns over a good profit so why would it worry. But this could be so much better. I am not in the entertainment business but I'd love to have a shot at managing this place, there is so much potential. The garden could be beautiful, as it is it is average. I went today and it could have done with a mow. Beefeater should recognise that they have a potential goldmine on their hands, sack the current management and staff and get a new crew in to realise the full potential of this eatery. | If its sunny and you fancy a walk and a drink in a beer garden it is the perfect location being situated right on the towpath. If its raining, you want good service and are hungry go somewhere else. Food is rubbish, they would struggle if the microwave broke down! Staff couldnt care less about the customers and very poor value for money, oh and service is incredibly slow. Misscrit - 4 Jul 2010 11:33 |
