Arrived with no sign of any menu's on the tables! Told there are indeed two menu's the fish and chips for £6.99 was good and a reasonable size, i've no idea why anyone would order the £12.50 fish and chips from the main menu unless they have a huge appetite! Drinks are a bit expensive, but the pub itself is nice enough, also a hotel with the BeefEater Chain. Good music playing in the background and some people even playing chess!

This pub is in Farncombe and not Godalming! Ok place, the food is very basic though. It is acceptable and you can get fairly cheap deals but the price is how average it is. Two ales are Hobgoblin and London Pride. Ok beer but had a coffee instead!

Visited yesterday while walking the dog along the towpath. it was quiet as it was around 4pm. So got served straightaway as there was hardly anyone in the pub and the Hobgoblin was fine. Sat in the garden where there were dirty plates and litter all over the garden and on tables. None of the tables looked clean and there was broken glass in the grass. Not a place to bring children or dogs!

One thing you can always rely on here is the standard of the beer; crap. Does anyone who is employed here really care ?I see a rating of 3.3, generous.

Food for buffet was pretty dire and there is only one real ale on (Pride) which actually was quite good. As everyone and his husband has said this is a superb location but pissed up the wall by the way the pub actually is.
