I recently visited this pub for a carvery, the staff were miserable and unhelpful and the carvery was vile, tastless and unedible.

By far the worst pub that I have ever been to. I first went to this s**thole about three years ago and was duly told to f**k off by a long haired, scruffy, clearly drunk barman. Tonight, incredibly, I actually got called a c**t by a member of staff who may or may not have been the same person, only with shorter hair. Unreal.

A bit like a Harvester only with less charm and amazingly the staff actually manage to be even less interested in you or anything you might actually need. God forbid you interrupt the conversation with their friends to buy something or be waiting before someone they know turns up because you'll be ignored until the full quota of their mates has been serviced. There's a rich selection of disgruntled youth looking a bit leary outside in the dirty smoking zone. The beer itself comes in plastic glasses and somehow magically all seems to taste the same whether it's lager or ale. It's very very horrible in almost every imaginable way.

dirty, smelly, you wouldn't eat here if you'd have seen the kitchen. Check the zombies around the pool table at the week end, heavily pregnant in boots and short skirt.Horrible all the way through...

As in most Eldridge Pope pubs the beer selection is fairly predictable and nothing special. Beer is served in plastic glasses which, for me, puts the place out of bounds. This is becoming more of a problem as violence in Bournemouth has led to a campaign for their use. (not the place you thought it was eh?)If you want good real ale you really should be in the nearby Porterhouse. The Sunday carvery is OK and fair value.

Shame about plastic glasses, but the friendly staff help to make the place a reasonable place to drink.Food generally okay,
Looks like a few of the troubleome guys have been got rid off & the atmosphere is definately better. Avoid the one down the road (Westbourne) at all costs

used to use this place when it was a real pub...Remember Brockie.? Shame it,s such a sh##hole now. EP should raze it to the ground and start again. Food is disgusting, beer is bloody awful, service is non existent.

Revolting overcooked Sunday carvery, foreign staff lacking manners and a purpose, English staff who should know better, but don't, plastic glasses, shell shocked management.....

Horrible pub, horrible staff, beer is rubbish, management are unhelpful and unfriendly, best be avoided at all costs.

To be avoided! Head straight for the Porterhouse round the corner for decent real ale.

After the recent refit and rebranding, this pub is now in decline. It is dusty and uncared for. The customers are a rough lot - strong management is required to turf them out. Westbourne deserves better.
The Ale selection is boring.
Eldridge Pope should invest in some bird tables and feeders for the front patio.

very strange pub the bar staff didn't seem to know what half a lager was !!!
I heard the last managers lasted one month, a swift exit after a pool cue insident!
bar staff not very happy!
Food was rather expencive for pub food and not sure how long the carvey had been out.

Bit misleading as this is not part of the Hogshead chain. In fact this place was around well before the Hogshead pubs started springing up right, left and centre. This pub is low ceilinged and pretty dreary, never seen a crowd in there and you can't get a decent pint.
