Seemed nice both outside and inside but no real ales on offer. However, friendly barmaid pointed us in the direction of the Three Crowns.

Doesn't quite know what it is doing. Is this meant to be an "Olde Worlde" pub in the centre of a small market town, or trying to grab the picture post card clientele. the type of pub that david cameron might choose to loose his daughter.
Beer: tasteless.
Staff: colourful, but bland.

Slightly run down and a bit seedy, shame. Don't avoid but wouldn't travel

At last a decent pub with well priced food and beer in Chippenham!
Timmy Taylors Landlaord and St Austell Tribute both at 2.20 a pint.
I had the Lasagne and my wife had the Chicken curry. Both very good and sensible helpings.
Friendly Landlady and Landlord.
Refreshing to find theese days.
Keep up the good work.

If you appreciate good food at a reasonable price then go for lunch at the Rose and Crown. If you want a massive plate with 20 potatoes, leathery meat and gloopy gravy then this is not for you, try McSpoons. The food is of a higher standard than any other establishment in Chippenham and hats off to the owners who are filling a large gap in the market for people who appreciate good food and service, not just quantity. The staff have worked in well established restaraunts in the Chippenham area and at last, I can eat well and have a good drink without the hassle of travelling to a quaint village.

A big disappointment. Sunday lunch is a large roast with lots of veg and roast potatoes, well not in this pub. The surroundings very tasteful and the staff very attentive. But alas the food let down what would be a really superb place to eat. The menu made you believe you were in for a treat but when the meal arrived you had to move the meat to find your vegetables and found you had carrot and parsnip batons and ONE roast potato yes one and not a whole one at that so if you are not too keen on carrots and parsnips you will be hungry. I am a vegetarian and my meal was nice but sparse for the money. So I opted for the cheese and biscuits of which we had to pay an extra three pounds for as the other puddings was not to my liking. It could be really nice but.................

Moles pub,bit rundown,2 halves,one a bar,other an empty restaurant.

1 nice barwoman,1 nice barman but alas 1 over dressed broomstick driving barwoman.

Everything was too much effort for the latter of the above. She hated having to go to the cellar for our beer. Lied about the ale when I told my ticker mate he was having something previously scooped. For info Moles "Trick or Treat" is also Moles"St Elmo's Fire". Although she says it only "nearly the same"??? Yeah work that one out. Strangely 2.50 a pint, but 1.40 a half.

With staff like her the new McSpoons in town will have the shutters reapplied to this place in no time.
