please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

The Carpenters is a Greene King pub at a busy junction on the Uxbridge Road. I remember it when it was painted orange. It never looked particularly welcoming. But the new exterior colour scheme is much more palatable and I ventured in for the first time this afternoon. There may be 3 handpulls. But all of the 3 Greene King ales were off. On keg, there was Fosters, Carlsberg, Stella Artois, Strongbow, Strongbow Dark Fruit, Coors Light, Peroni, John Smith's & Guinness. I decided to hit the bottles. The interior is nicely appointed. There is a large room at the rear with pool tables. The gents toilets weren't the best though.

The Carpenters has changed so much over the last 12 months. It has a really friendly atmosphere for people of all ages. There are plenty of screens for a variety of sport coverages, dart boards and 3 decent pool tables. They have teams in both the Tuesday and Thursday pool leagues and are even competing in the Interleague matches. btw they won the thursday 2nd division pool league and are now in divsion 1. They also have have a decent dj on fridays and more often than not a decent band selection for saturday gigs. The food is very good as far as local pubs go and their food specials are perhaps the best value for money around. They have tables out front and a beer garden out back with the possibility of a barbeque on sunny saturdays.

It's a dump. Went in here for the first time recently, and walked out after half a pint of soapy tasting beer

Recently had a refit - not bad - is now very much a young persons pub - plenty of TV screens and pool tables! and, strangely, an L-shaped pool table.
